Runes for Vi?

I've always loved this champion, but as of late I find myself sucking more and more with her. I have used her since release and still can't seem to get the hang of her. I use to do insanely well with her but that was back when runic was an item. Now, i'm just terrible with her. I figured the first start would be to ask someone with experience with her for a good rune page.

(I also like to take her top lane as well, not that big of a fan of jungling if that helps any)

If you're top? AD quints, armor pen marks, armor seals, mr/level glyphs or flat mr depending on whether it's an AD or AP enemy laner. You want to max E first for the increased damage to the enemy laner, then W, then Q. Ult when available. Buildwise you want to go for a Brutalizer, then work on some resistances and health before going back and finish the Black Cleaver. Then build more offenses if you're ahead, or build more defenses if you're behind. I find that a BotRK is deceptively strong on her, especially with her AA resets when up against tanks combined with her W's procs. Maw of Malmortius is a solid hybrid item that forgoes health for a large amount of AD and a decent amount of MR with a nifty shield, and actually rewards you for diving into fights if you're smart about it from the scaling AD based on your remaining health. Last Whisper if they're stacking armor. Randuin's Omen gives her some extra CC to help with chasing targets or her engages on enemy teams, and a Banshee's Veil will also help her with her heavy engages by giving her a spellshield, letting her dive relatively safely when combined with her shield as well.

If you're jungle, AS quints, AD marks, armor seals, mr/level glyphs. You want to start W, take E and then Q, then another point or two in W for the extra clear before maxing E for increased damage during ganks and Q last. Again, ult when available. You're going to want the Warrior enchant on whatever jungle item you get. I suggest Stalker's Blade for the Chilling Smite. Adds a little extra damage to your ganks while letting you stick to targets easier. Then grab yourself a Brutalizer if your team is doing well, or start working on resistances if not. The Warrior enchant is basically half a Black Cleaver's worth of offensive stats so you can run on that for a while before having to build more offenses. But once you have both that and a Cleaver you shouldn't need much, if any, more damage between the armor pen, the armor reduction, and the effectiveness of her W's procs. Again, if you absolutely need more damage a BotRK or a Maw of Malmortius are both excellent choices. If you're up against a lot of tanks, Last Whisper again comes in handy here once again. After that youre basically just laughing at them while you tear them a new one. I've found that a solid defensive option for her once you have other resistances is a Warmog's Armor, especially now that it's gotten buffed to increase the amount of regen it gives when out of combat, so you can start REALLY laying down some ganking pressure while healing up on the move, and it makes her shield considerably stronger.

Honestly I love playing Vi, this thread has sort of reminded me how long it's been since I let loose with her. Just remember that she's probably one of the easiest champs in terms of build options because there are very few items that she doesn't use well, even if a few stand out above the others, and she's almost a sliding scale of defense to offense. The better your match is going the more offense you can build. The harder the time you're having, the mroe defenses. Take it all into consideration and happy vault breaking!
