To low elo people. Stop copying what you see. That is why you keep losing.

Stop playing trundle support in ranked because you saw it in the lcs then spend the entire laning phase crying how "OP" a sona is against you.

Stop playing Blue ezreal then wondering why you do negative damage when you have a tear and the enemy has a BF sword

Stop it. Just stop. Nobody wants to lose a game because you're trying to find a silly easy way to win.

How to climb out of bronze

  1. Learn how to play a champion Good job you've made it out of Bronze
Trash MammaI6 votes

Exactly how I got out after being placed in bronze 1.

Sadly I just finished my first game in silver where my team was literally impossible to carry. No matter how far ahead I got them they still managed to screw it up. Level 7 blue ezreal dying to level 5 lucian. Wonder why..

If that was the case, then last season I wouldn't have had to go through my series to get into silver, 5 times... you can look at my profile, even if I consistently did fairly well, my team did not.

It's fairly easy to get out of bronze with a champ you main.

Bronze - Basics Silver - Attitude toward the game Gold - Mechanics

Everything else higher is just improving on these things.

If you main a champ in bronze you typically know the basics of the champ and what they can/can't do. So you'll move out of it.

If your attitude toward the game is like most silver players, negative, where you RQ after FB goes to the enemy team, flame your support because you overextended etc. You are gonna be stuck in silver, as you will notice with the majority of the silver playerbase

Gold is where you start to notice people are mechanically better and a bit more level-headed towards the game.

I've carried myself out of bronze twice now. If you were there awhile you probably just weren't as good with the main you tried out that or didn't get the role to spam them enough

Bronze - Basics
Silver - Basics
Gold - More Basics
Plat - Advanced Basics
Diamond - More Advanced Basics

Where does attitude come in?

Never.

They said "attitude towards the game", not "attitude towards your teammates".

Plat - strategy.

The best mechanics in the world on Zed won't help you if you're farming bot while the enemy team has already taken top and is getting baron. In plat you need to know why you are at your location on the map and where you are heading in the next 30 seconds at all times.

Diamond - limits

Knowing exactly how much damage you vs the enemy lane can do if you go all in, etc.

Not Dia myself but that's essentially what Janna Mechanics said in their AMA when I asked about it.

i LOL when people think each rank represents a specific skill

Trash MammaI2 votes

Each rank you're in you'll notice certain traits being more and more common, that's a fact so idk what you mean.

Yes, there are those few people in every elo that all seem like they're from stupidvile or somethin, but in general there are noticable differences.

You will rarely ever see someone in plat asking what Teemo's Q does but you will probably see that a crap ton in bronze.

When someone gives up FB in diamond you aren't gonna have a teammate leave the game but you will see that an awful lot in silver.

etc. etc. Again, I'll reiterate since I know some people don't read things clearly. There ARE people like this in EVERY elo. It's just more COMMON in certain ones.

I really appreciate this post. Each rank has their own personalities and traits and my favorite thing to do (as a prominent player) is to watch 2 of my team mates rage quit and win a 3v5 at lower ranks. I've done it multiple times in bronze, silver and gold. The problem is when someone does something irrational, you get hot headed and you stop playing at your best.

Then you notice specific responses in each elo (most of the time)

Bronze - this is bronze guys we can still win they'll throw at baron Silver - An summoner has disconnected Gold or higher - Just turtle we can still win

WooBeeWoo2 votes

This is actually incredibly true in my experience. For bronze I merely got half decent at understanding the champs I was playing and my role. For silver it was all about the attitude and not FFing every time we were two kills behind. I'm gold 5 and have gotten to gold 4 but man I'm seeing that to win I need to be much better at the mechanical aspects of the game becuase just playing well won't always get you that win.

Silver's the worst tier ever D:

Dregen1 votes

As a seasonal mid-plat player I can say that most of the bronze games can be won w/ >75% win rates easily. Looking at your stats/cs/deaths it seems you belong in silver atm, so it isn't surprising that it took you a few tries to get out of bronze. I've had plenty of times where I've had to do promos to plat multiple times after a season reset - After 4 seasons of getting to plat I'm pretty sure I belong in plat, and yet gold1 promos can still be difficult.

if your promos are difficult, then your "true" rating is probably getting pretty close.

but my promos aren't difficult because I can't duel and win a 2v1 or sometimes a 3v1, my promos are difficult because my team feeds or is toxic.

Dregen1 votes

To be fair, toxic/feeding teams are the norm, it doesn't get better at plat, it actually gets worse b/c people are smarter and troll more efficiently.

PeponiPoro2 votes

This is unfortunately not true. I have been stuck in bronze for millennium even though I hardly watch LCS. The thing I enjoy most about this game is experimenting builds and in what order I level abilities. Unfortunately, it has not gotten me anywhere. sad face here

Jungle Lux God2 votes

I do this too. I also like experimenting with a lot of different builds (not so much level orders), but since I do most of that in normals it doesn't affect my ranking.

What I did to get placed in Silver was that I learned how to play a few different champions, and when I played ranked with them I would use what I learned to play the champion. This includes both the standard stuff I did and whatever experimentation that I did that worked.

Like if I'm playing Skarner and my team needs some magic damage, I will happily take Wit's End on him as a core damage item to add some magic damage to my team over some of the more core damage items for him like Trinity Force or Black Cleaver because I've done the experimentation with it and found that it does work, but I won't take something like Muramana on him because I already tried it and it didn't work.

PeponiPoro1 votes

I didn't mean to imply that I experiment IN ranked games. I understand what your saying, and this is usually the case for me, but sometimes I have had to build against champions I don't see in norms and find those builds not working.

Jungle Lux God2 votes

I see. I misunderstood you in that I thought you said you experiment in ranked games, but that wasn't what you meant.

EmEx2 votes

yeah I like to experiement too and invent my own builds, I think my builds are good but I am just a bad team player. Or maybe I just think my builds are good and they are not good. But I think they are good or I wouldnt build them.

PeponiPoro1 votes

Pretty much. Why build them if you think they are shit? XD

EmEx1 votes

No, no I experiement with builds that I think could be good but sometimes I also do stuff that is sub optimal but fun like AP WW.

Arf Arf Arf Arf19 votes

Actually copying higher Elo people is precisely how you learn the game. The problem isn't the act of copying so much as it is the mentality. Bronzies often look for shortcuts, thinking there's some OP champ or build that'll get them to the Elo they "deserve." When they don't gain Elo, they look for something else to try instead.

Instead, what they should be doing, is picking a champ (yes, even support trundle or blue Ezreal) and practicing just that champ even if it doesn't work at first. Not only that, but they should be working on their game basics (last hitting, map movements, objective taking, vision control) constantly.

But all in all I simply can't support the idea of copying being bad for low Elo players. It's not. Amateurs SHOULD copy pros.

Occams Raiser3 votes

I actually think people get desperate to get away from th bullshit. If you actually care about ranked and you are drowning in a cesspool of of shit to your nipples, you will try anything. The zen thing to do is to stop caring. Play all your non practice games in ranked. The only reason to ply normals is for practice. the only way out is to play a lot of ranked.

Hello I am Bird3 votes

From a player that plays a lot of normals:

Don't bring your shit over here.

Thank you <3

Occams Raiser3 votes

you must be responding to someone elses post

ahferroin72 votes

No, understanding why their strategy works is how you learn the game. Just blindly copying a strategy is a recipe for disaster on average 50% of the time. You also need to understand your limits though, too many people just go into a game in PvP and try to immediatly copy a pro's strategy without practicing it at all, and fail because they don't have either the reflexes or understanding of why it works.

High58 votes

Very negative post.

It's not the players fault that Riot doesn't provide adequate tools to learn the game. Every new player has to reinvent the wheel. Some realize more quickly that round wheels work the best.

darkmatchwaldo3 votes

They have to get all the way up to level 30 before they could play ranked. By that point they are not new players, they should know better.

NichtHurz3 votes

They still are new players. What you experience before lvl30, especially until lvl20 often has nothing to do with the games you'll play at lvl30. Some get to know the game faster, some take more time, but most fresh 30's still need quite a few games to really understand what is going on and how to approach the game.

TekkenPlayer3 votes

Lux and heimerdinger carried me out of bronze easily

SerBlaise1 votes

This isn't quite true. Often times if i get absolutely STOMPED by a champion I use the next game to play that same champion and learn WHY i got stomped. It's helpful to play every champion so you have an idea of what their strengths and weaknesses are.

blkKalameet3 votes

But is it a good idea to play a champ you have zero experience with in ranked?

Bayirdacus1 votes

Honestly I feel like that's a yes sometimes, if your lobby knows before the game starts. People will give you tips and help give you a safety net if they know you are new to a champ, because they want more than anything to win. Sometimes having a baby brother is what a team needs to always have a goal in mind instead of mindlessly doing the same thing every game.

Jungle Lux God3 votes

I feel like it's never a yes.

If you play a champion you have no experience on, you basically have to learn how to play a different game than when you play some other champion. Even if you get some guidance from your team you still have that problem of "you have to learn how to play the champion in 5 minutes".

In many cases taking a champion you can play well into a bad matchup is better than taking a champion you don't know how to play into a good one. I think it is better for me to play Nautilus into Lee Sin rather than Elise into Lee Sin because even though Elise can deal with Lee Sin much better than Nautilus can, my Nautilus is much better than my Elise (I don't play Elise by the way), and even though the matchup is worse, the game might end up more in my favor because I understand my character better.

EROTIC RAID BOSS3 votes

no you should learn the basics in normal first. its incredibly shitty to do that to other people in ranked who are trying to move up
