Tired of kill steals? Here's a tip to never be annoyed by them again!
Stop caring.
Stop caring.
You should never KS! If they are low and near a tower and you can easily kill them as support, you should let them run away under tower, allowing your ADC to throw caution into the wind and bravely face the tower in a dive of skill to kill the cowardly fool who dared to think they would survive, thinking naught of their own survival and allowing them to satiate their blood lust.
"Wtf support didn't follow up."
Goddammit we just can't win.
best tl:dr xD
Pretty much.
snipe the kill that was gonna run away
"GODAMMIT SONA I HAD HIM"
"well... ok... sorry..."
stop hitting the enemy as they get extremely low to let ADC get it
"WTF SONA ONE MORE ATTACK OMG"
" -.- "
^ this is why i stopped supporting. Arrogant ADC's can't make up their mind, and no matter how many madlife hooks you land they'll never be satisfied. you're pretty much a scapegoat for their fuckups.
"im gud, my support suckz that's why we lost lane lel"
Really frustrating with support Sona. Attacking has a high chance of "WTF SONA STOP KS". Don't attack has a high chance of "WTF SONA DO SOMETHING HE GOT AWAY".

If you're playing a damage champion it's a lot more forgiveable than a standard support/tank Thresh last hitting kills just to pad his kda.
To be fair, if you are getting out last hitted by a non-damage support, you might be the problem.

Sona Main: coudn't agree more in Solo Que. I find that telling people you're going to play aggressively helps. At least they'll understand you're going out of your way to do damage.
But I'm master 1 doiblelift hard carry. I need kills or afk because team bad and reason I go 0/35
my life.
We all deserve challenjour, gg
Kill secured. Thread secured. gg
If someone deliberately waits to use an ability/basic attack to get a kill, getting annoyed at them will at best make them amused and at worst turn them on.
If someone gets a kill because everyone's dogpiling abilities on the enemy then they're doing their f***king job.
my fucking stacks you asshole
draven is the one exception where its ok to rage when ks'd
lern 2 last hit betar nub
I've found that the one auto attack I put into a fight ends up killing someone.
i find that im great using that one autoattack from a tank to secure kills, but i suck at last hitting creeps.
go figure.
Had a game where I got 2 kills from the 1 true damage of the trundle pillar...that was the only time I touched them
I once got a quadra as Janna from random autos in a team fight.
I don't even.
Pentakill Sona here.
Our team got caught at our red while Kennen and I were heading there, and because they fought well the enemies were around half HP so we decided that we could go clean up. We rushed there as quickly as possible with Shurelya + his e + my e, Kennen ults 3 of them, I ult them under the storm. This was back when Crescendo was a Dot and dealt its damage over the course of the stun's duration - SOMEFUCKINGHOW my DoT got a triple.
Then I Q'd to tag the remaining 2, Kennen's W hit just before -> QUADRA KILL, Kennen was extremely low against the last one, I healed him + threw Diminuendo (trivia: Diminuendo did not even work back then, but of course no one knew) on the last guy to help Kennen fight through -> PENTAKILL.
I legit did not notice that I had gotten all five until my friend who was playing Ashe in this game told me, and the Kennen started raging hard at me and went AFK for 5 minutes. I was just so caught up in my "we can ace them, we can do this" mindset, so focused on getting them to die as we lived, that I did not pay attention to that - apparently he did, because I had stolen his glory and he was extremely sore.
And that's the story of the day I bought Pentakill Sona as a symbol.
OMG noob team. I'm 35 / 0 and were still losing fights. Report team GG FF@20
Well maybe if you shared those kills earlier. We would have a chance.
But I need kills to look MLG pro noscope doritoes.
SHUT DOWN!
GG noob team. Afk
Had a similar situation a few games ago. The Darius was a raging jerk who literally last hit EVERYTHING possible with his ult just to inflate his score. And the second he got caught out and died, he afked.
He had a good 20 kills or so. But guess what? Our team only had 29. And the only thing he did in fights was jump in at the last second and took every kill. Even though our Jinx needed some of those kills.
If it is late game. You might as well let him take the kills so that you can end. But that is the Darius you never want to play with ever again. There is a certain limit to taking kills or securing it tbh. He has all the cc to give kills to other people. Only thing you gotta worry about is his bleed killing its targets. This mindset is pretty common for Riven mains as well. Not all remember, but certain amount of them.
I don't really care if people ks me, but as soon as they say OMG REPORT HES 0/3/872633 DOES NOTHING FOR THE TEAM. That is when I get mad...
I wish I could upvote this more.
I agree,
is the only champ where it's routinely justifiable.
HOWEVER
I was in a game as
, and I had the most blatant, bullshit KS ever.
I drop my entire combo, plus
. Our
walks up, as I'm still ulting (I had just started the ult) waits until my ult is about to kill the enemy
, for the shut down, and blatantly KS's me. And I'm like, "really"?
Worst part is that was the Ashe's only kill. She feeds her lane hardcore, feeds MY LANE and then blatantly steals the shutdown on Ekko. which would have gotten me my Deathcap.
That is bullshit and you know it.
Sorry, did you need that kill?
(Ba) Na na na na na not today
Draven needs his kills mang.
I completely don't care if someone ks me. My mindset when it happens is "ah nuts, well I guess I'll just have to kill harder next time lol!"
While I'd normally agree, there are some exceptions.
For example. Say, there's a 17/0/2 Lee Sin in game where it's 30 kills to 35 kills, Lee Sin on the losing side. He''s godlike, carrying the team, the reason they haven't FF'd already. But, by the same token, would he really need to flash kick to secure the kill from the laners who could really use the shut down gold since they're so behind?
Now, I know it's irritating since junglers and supports get a lot of flak for things they've no control over, but swap out Lee Sin with a mid lane Leblanc or top lane Riven or whoever, and the example still applies. This example doesn't even specifically apply to last second "kill stealing", although it does still apply.
Other than that though, yeah the concept of KSing is stupid.
I main support, and as often as possible, I try to donate the kill to my carries. That doesn't mean that I'm afraid to take the kill if they are going to get away (my ADC can't flash/gap-close to get them). That way, at least my carry gets some sort of gold, lane pressure and free farm. Now if my ADC has them to one auto, they are in the middle of the lane or have no tower to fall back to, I simply try to buff my ADC to allow them to get the kill as the gold is more useful on them.
People should always try to donate "guaranteed" kills to their carries but should never be afraid to do the killing blow if it's a teamfight or some sort of scrum-like scenario where you have 3v2 or something along those lines. Or if your ADC is going to die to their ADC if you don't kill them.
KS'ing only really refers to situations where someone intentionally takes the kill either to grief someone or to be greedy - such as a flash-ability to take a sure kill away from a carry or to grief someone who is struggling. These do happen - players get greedy and forget to share the gold. It's not about score, but rather gold and items. If you view it as a loss to your KDA, then you're looking at it all wrong.
Personally I'd rather blow Flash myself as the support to give my ADC an assist than have them blow their Flash. I feel like his Flash is more precious than mine and I don't think it's worth the gold difference between a kill and an assist. Except like if you're Draven and you have stacks to cash in.
An interesting point. Plus, if the ADC flashes for the kill, now they can be ganked for shutdown gold. A support that flashes for the kill probably still won't have a streak and won't be worth as much even if they are ganked while their flash is down.
Of course, if you don't have good communication, they might flash in at the same time you do anyway...
Yeah, there's that, lol. It's better if you're premade with him, you can say like "got it" before wasting both flashes.
now im fine if it's accidental or if it only happens once or if they just really need the kills, but sometimes its just unnecessary rude and excessive. for example, before I hit lvl 30, I had a match as tryn with a master yi on our team (back when ap yi was only yi) who would just sit off to the side, let us get them low, then come in and steal the kills last second, and let us die. at the end of the game he started talking about how good he was and I just about punched through wall.
Sorry man, I just hit all my buttons in like .5 seconds and they died. Couldn't you have fit an AA in there somewhere?
If you're playing adc and your supp is better at last hitting champs than you despite your (hopefully) higher crit chance, AS, damage, stop playing adc.
(and I main adc)
Here here. I can ADC, and I think when we're new we almost all are drawn to the allure of ADCing, but I learned early on my last-hitting and twitch speed just isn't up to being a dedicated ADC player, and transitioned to more Mage and Support.
Find your niche. By all means learn to play every role with some degree of competence, but be realistic with your strengths and capabilities.
See, I posted a big thread some time ago offering suggestions for how the game itself could avoid the 'kill steal' thought-process entirely, and the ONLY responses I got were 'the gold is global, it's a kill confirm, this shouldn't be a thing.'
So I stop caring, yeah. Now I just NUKE whatever target I can, either I get it, or the other person(s) get it. About 50% of the time I get accused of kill stealing, being a bad support, whatever. When I do, I just remember that when /I/ whine about it, nobody gives a hoot. So I return the favor.
One time I killed a like, 4 tank-item volibear with a Janna W. The teammate who had been losing a 2v1 against that volibear (and another champion i don't recall) was actually mad at me when I showed up, turned the fight around, and happened to get kill credit.
If I can intentionally ks a tank with a zephyr, you shouldn't be mad, you should hail me as a god amongst mere mortals.
Whenever I play adc, i don't mind my support ksing me if i can't get the kill or don't deal enough damage. In fact if they secure the kill then that means I still get gold to spend towards my power items and then carry that support through the end game like how the adc-support relationship is suppose to be
And then there's that scenario where:
Alright, Thresh is dead, their ez is at 10% hp, got the kills all set up
now I press the S button and let Corki autoattack so I don't kill ste-
An ally has been slain
sigh
you have slain an enemy
you forgot this
BRAUM WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THAT EARLIER!!!
Better to KS than to let one get away. i did it today on ARAM w sona. We won. The problem comes when people don't contribute to their roles only to snipe kills so they can run up their score. Its the same idea as the Wukong building damage instead of tanking, getting all the kills early game and then blames the ad carry at end game when he's behind (true story).
i sstopped caring, but im still getting ksed. this didn't help.
Took your advice. Shit works. Upvoted.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. As soon as I saw the title that is what I thought. what a great post
I always tell people that KS doesn't exist. Do the damage or somebody else will... I'd rather have a KS than a death happen to me!
