She did okay but was report time after game win or lose bc she was so damn troll. Especially when you lock AFTER the other person does AND they were trying to communicate and asked what you want. She also left tp up till last second so cho assumed he was mid since she wouldn't respond and took ignite. She switched at the last second and said mid as the game started. So fucking troll.
coltfan081 votesIf akali and cho were the last two to pick (which is what it looks like you are saying), then the 3 champs picked before them were amumu(jg), heim(top/mid?), and sona(supp), which leaves ad and top/mid. Why would akali hovering tp indicate to cho that he was mid?

Why would Akali not answer when team asked what they wanted to play, and then lock Akali instead of an AD after the last pick locked in Cho since the pick before them wasn't communicating (it wasn't an insta lock, just time was down to like 15 sec so cho picked since 4th hadn't)?
Absolutely no idea why Akali would do that, but I'm glad Heimer can push or taking towers would have been a nightmare. (Cho went top, Akali mid since we figured we were already at a handicap so why make it worse by messing w/ the troll, and Heimer went bot w/ the support, amumu obviously jungle. Can't believe we won that game.)

You might want to add to the afk section that players should not afk "especially if they're going to trade champions later in the champion select screen". Also, theres the case of players saying something like "hey OP champion sejuani is open. I'm going to first pick her so our jungle can play her." but then the jungler actually has no clue on how to play sejuani and got forced into the pick.

First you assume they are typing a long sentence. But after a while you realize that its worse than a slow typer. They are AFK or their keyboard just died.
At that point everyone else is filling roles and picking champs and yet has no idea what first was going to do, can do, or knows how to play.
Communication starts at champ select. Its like with wards. Talk/ward and win games.

BluePolarizer3 votesthats not true. I am a jungle/top/support main and I ban mostly mids. There's too many gamebreaking mids that snowball way too hard, and is impossible for melee to handle if they're fed enough. For example, Ahri is just impossible to deal with as a melee because you usually only have 1-2 gapclosers and she has 3 dashes, hard CC and a moveboost. If she ever gets ahead she can terrorize all 3 lanes. The only way to beat her once she's fed as a melee before was with DFG Malphite or Master Yi with Merc Scimitar, and DFG got deleted (then Ahri got a huge buff and her win rate skyrocketed from 50% to 55%).
Lady Luck3 votesIf you have zero communication, the best people can do is guess where you're going. And if you're banning out a single lane... That's probably the best guess for people as to where you're going. It's the only evidence people have to go on.
I'm not saying you can't (or shouldn't) ban a lane that isn't yours... I'm saying if you focus bans on one lane, and don't communicate, people will assume you're banning your own lane.

I hate being first pick because while everyone is typing, I'm trying to figure out what to ban out, trying to find people who are asking me not to ban things. Trying to discern when someone says "Vi" if they mean ban Vi, don't ban Vi. I feel like I need more time as the first pick, but any other pick I feel like there's way too much time!
chuybakka1 votesI totally agree with you. It feels rushed as first pick but as any other it feels like slow motion. I never blame the first pick for taking their time. But the complaints are about first picks that not only say nothing but also ignore what is going on in the chat. I had a game where our first pick missed the first ban by trying to talk to everyone so in the end its a balancing act.
You can't be perfect as first pick unless everyone is in voice chat. And I think most players understand that. The rushed feeling and time restraint make for a tough position to be in.
I guess the main point is pay attention to what is going on in chat during bans but also be aware that you have to make the decisions for the team at that point. Go into a game expecting to be first pick. Already have your preferred bans ready in your mind. Then take the first ban for yourself. After that listen to what others are saying. That way you are protected in case your team isn't helping with bans while at the same time showing that you are not trying to ignore the team.
Also after bans let people know you are alive. Type something to let them understand what your plan for your pick is. Keep it short and to the point. You can always chit-chat while a death timer is going or after the match.

Adaelphon Delat9 votesI hate game where people don't state preferences. I usually try to fill, but I've had games where I am second or third pick and grab support, then get yelled at by a duo because he wanted it, despite having been silent the whole time.
Also, add: remember that sometimes someone takes a couple extra seconds to load, and won't see chat before that. So wait a few seconds before calling anything.

Konidias4 votesMy absolute FAVORITE player in champ select is when last pick locks mid/top when I called mid/top Quinn, and then says "oh I thot u were adc", and literally FORCES me to either play Quinn adc (which I don't enjoy), or have my team report ME for not just going adc to fix the team comp.
Like I get early pick and still get forced into a role... that's just so much fun.

EviIGreenRanger2 votesThere was one game like 2 weeks ago, everyone pick and got the role they wanted. The player that called mid took Master Yi with Smite/TP... I was ok, weird choice. Since Smite/TP was being picked sometimes for a laner. I called jungler and was asking, even spamming trying to confirm if he was really going mid. Doesn't say a thing so i took Rek'sai jungle and after everyone champs are locked in he flips out saying he's jungle. Nope, he was forced to cover mid lane vs a Liss. You called mid, I asked several times trying to confirm your role and no response so go mid. Died FB, but he got ahead enough and we won game.
So far only twice i missed someone going called top with Smite/TP thinking they were jungler. Didn't see em call top just saw the smite and assume jungle...
