Any way to bind range indicators?

Remlap1223··2 votes·6,130 views

So I, like most people, play with Quick Cast on, but I'd like to be able to hotkey an indicator for long range ults like Lux's. Is there any way to do this? I don't want it permanently on there because it doesn't feel right.

I set my abilities to be smart cast (with indicators on), but I also set it up so that if I hit shift + an ability key, it will do a normal cast. That should do what you need.

Go into a custom game and press ESC. In the Hotkeys section you can bind to your hearts desire. I believe the default is control + spell, but I have had weird key bindings for awhile now so I kind of forget.

There isn't a specific function. Literally all I want to do is press a button that will allow me to turn on range indicators for Quick Cast for the time I hold it. There's only a toggle.

Ohhh, Okay. Yeah there isn't actually a function that I know of for that. I think your best bet is to use smart cast and then use the normal cast keybinds when you need a range indicator.

You're using the actual quickcast? Or smart cast? I think I might be a little confused still about your question still.

No that's my bad, I'm using smart cast (smart cast is called quick cast in Smite, so I use them interchangeably). So as soon as I hit the ability, it goes to where my cursor is. I'm looking for an option where I can press a button to display the range indicators, then let it go when I need to.

Oh! Then yes, use the quick cast range indicators. Just scroll to the very bottom of the hotkeys options and click the box that says turn on range indicators for quick cast [reference picture]. As long as you hold the key down you get a range indicator, you can also right click to cancel.

Careful though, because quick cast is a little slower than smart cast.

I was wondering if there's a quick toggle for that, from hat I can see, it's only toggleable in the options menu. It's k, I'll petition Rito for something like this in the future, but I'll just practice some more with Lux when I need to accurately snipe with her ult.

Yeah :( unfortunately no toggle. I play a lot of lux :D. She's fun. Sniping is fun. I approve. If you just roll over the r button with your mouse it'll show the range on the mini map. Obviously not perfect accuracy, but it is good to check when you're running somewhere to snipe.

That be what I do. I wish it was more efficient though. :(

Yeah :/. I mean I honestly in cases like this, its better to use smart cast and bind the normal cast to a key. That way you can have range indicators on the abilities that you need, such as Lux's ult. I personally don't use quick cast at all because I don't like that extra half a second delay. IMO if you're looking for range indicators for specific abilities like that, the normal cast probably won't hurt you all that bad anyways.

go to the options menu

Go to the controls menu

click on the "quick cast all"

now scroll to the bottom and click "show range indicators for quick cast"

Now all of your abilities, if held down show the range indicator, and when you release the key, the ability will be fired. If you screw up and don't want to cast that ability, keep the button held down and right click to cancel.
