Infinite Loop Client Restart

In the middle of me unboxing loot, my client crashed. It said it was going to revert back to a previous patch and restart, but every time it does this, it proceeds to immediately crash again, causing an infinite loop of constantly reopening my client and crashing.

In system settings I set the date back from 8/12/17 to 8/10/17 and opened league again and it worked. Posting this here to see if anyone else has tried this and succeeded as well.

I'm on NA and I'm experiencing the same issues, both on the main client and PBE client. I made a video about what it does:

Edit #1: I am now able to log into the main client and PBE, so give it a go. Not sure if it has been fixed for everyone

Edit #2: And it's broken again.

Edit #3: Been logged in for over an hour now, seems a-okay

You know a bug is REALLY bad when it only takes 20 minutes for the bug report to reach top of the front page. I'm guessing a Rioter will be here soon to help out though.

  1. Client Crashes
  2. Client says it will revert to a previous patch
  3. Patching fails, client closes and reopens to attempt a force patch.
  4. Client says it is reverting to a previous patch.

I close the client and restart my computer.

Client repeats 1-4.

I check task manager, in all processes. No instances of league are running.

I close the client and make sure all league processes are killed.

I run the Hextech Repair Tool and use it to Force a Repatch.

The repair tool gathers all the logs successfully.

When it gets to the Flushing DNS stage, an error pops up from Windows. -"Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) Client Application has stopped working."

Closing this message forces the Repair Tool to close.

Rinse, wash repeat. Windows 8.

Just keep restarting it and wait about a minute everytime and it will eventually work. It did for me at least i was having the same issue.

Edit: also in my task manager when this is happening I have 5 different leagues i can close out of.

Setting your clock back 12 hours or to a previous date seems to work...

go to C:>RiotGames>LeagueofLegends> Run the lol.launcher.admin file. It'll do some update or something and then it might work!
