I just got done with the worst game I've ever played.
No, I wasn't facing a SKT T1 Telecom with all of the broken champions in the game being played. No, I didn't have a toxic teammate on my team. I wasn't even told to kill myself. No, this game, I had the enemy carry intentionally feed kills by walking down lane and wasting summoner spells. Worst part about it? Nobody knew why. One minute he's playing normally, and the next he's just running down lane intentionally tanking tower shots to kill himself.
He wasn't whining in all chat that the role he wanted was taken from him. He didn't call anyone a fag or something like that. Nope, just starting walking down the middle of the lane for the hell of it. Built four longswords. Turned them into vamp scepters. Just sat there and fed.
The saddest part about it? Everyone just kinda gave up after that. My carry didn't want to kill him, but I did it because I was hoping I could force them to surrender so maybe they wouldn't feel as much of their time was wasted (it didn't happen, I assume it was a premade troll from what I heard from the enemy top laner). I was bored stiff and felt horrible the entire game. It wasn't fun. It felt like my time was wasted and the S+ rank I earned that game as
was earned unfairly, because it was.
Isn't this what the new system was suppose to fix? Because I can tell you from my own personal experience that it has not fixed it, not in the slightest. The number of trolls has grown exponentially. Toxicity is at an all time high from the two and a half years I've been playing. Why isn't this being addressed meaningfully? The same statements about Lyte's numbers are getting parroted, but I'm seeing the exact opposite in effect. I have yet to play one game in the past two months where someone's game has not been ruined by an AFK player, a toxic shit, or a troll. NOT ONCE. The only games where I actually had fun in the tons of games that I have played were the two custom ones that I joined with one of my IRL friends and his friends. Despite me being Bronze I and all of them ranging from Gold IV to Plat IV, I felt challenged, but most importantly, I HAD FUN. It reminds me of what the game was like just a couple years ago. I'd have friendly banter in all chat. We'd flame about how broken champions are, not about wanting people's mothers' killed and shit. We'd say things like "juuukes" and "rekt" in a playful way, not to intentionally spite someone.
So I'm going to ask Riot one more time. When are you going to stop dicking around your community and actually address the concerns we're actually having? Replays, a better client, new servers, the double login bugs, the lack of lore; these are just a few things that you have failed to follow up on. I'd be able to tolerate it for the most part if the game was actually fun to play. But it's not anymore. The lack of community policing has made sure of that. I am really not exaggerating when I say that I have not had a single game outside of the ones with my IRL friends where someone was having their gameplay experience ruined, myself or others. So, are we actually going to address these things, or are we going to just keep the status quo of all talk and no action?
