Considering Elise? heres a little (general)advice
Do it...
Lol what I mean is your right for wanting to add her to your roster, and she does have a bit of a learning curve, but it mostly comes down to repetition until you are able to complete her full rotation with your eyes closed(per say).
Note that no matter how you build, her spider form is always where her massive damage is, and human form is mainly for poke/cc/some aoe, so consider your self primarily a melee fighter/assassin.
Now that her E:Rappel doubles her spider form damage/healing I max her spells in this order: R>W>E>Q because Q doesnt have scaling cdr and it does peanut damage until late game, so its pretty much just a gap closer in spider form.
Even if you want to be tanky Elise, I recommend offensive mastery and runes. She is not mana dependent so you can ride 1-2
and be fine, but having a
would not go to waste on her at all, or something like
are all fine pick ups on her, but she can still be fine without any mana build.
She does however want a slow,
is really good for locking down a target, and since she doesnt need mana per say, its a great first item, unless you are jg with chilling smite which would be almost as good.
As long as she has that or other means to slow targets, she can build whatever she wants and rek face.
Her spiderlings melt face, especially towers and inhibs, but they dont scale with bonus attack speed, so something like
or
are mainly good for her spider form on-hit damage and healing.
Her raw damage is more than enough to shred anything in sight, and really doesnt need much magic pen to hurt(
+
is enough for any squishy).
is as good on Elise as most mage/assassins, but I find her kit has more than enough scaling to kill things efficiently, and would only pick it up for split pushing as a last item.
Just remember once your attack speed/rappel roid wares off, your doing much less damage, probably 1/3 what you were doing for the first 3 seconds, and if your dueling someone with high sustain like
or
, you should probably try to peel out, unless your human spells come back up in time which can buy you time for spider spells to be back up etc...
Basically, during the 3-5 seconds of Elises power buffs, she can out trade almost any other champ in the game, but once they ware off shes weak until her cds are back up.
