Iceborn Gauntlets+Hecarim Devistating Charge interaction

Valhalla Rising··167 votes·4,691 views

I never had this problem until item 3025 persistent slow after leaving the affected area was removed, but now whenever I Charge my target is not even slowed for .1 seconds.

My target is instantly knocked out of the slowing field and now this item is pretty much a noob trap on Hecarim.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a unique exception in this case where the field is placed at the end of the animation instead of the beginning so it can actually slow the target?

Would be much appreciated.

First Runeglaive(RIP) and now Iceborn. Ezreal ruins spellblades like it's his job or something.

To all those saying "Iceborn isn't a noob trap for hecarim", the point of this post was to allow hecarim to make use of the slow after using e not to say it's bad on hecarim. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

yea, the expression is taken too seriously.

I wouldn't call it a noob trap since it's up every 1.5seconds and Hecarim spams his Q.

But it's definitely annoying.

hecarim basically peels his own target by knocking them out of the slow lol, that seems hardcore noob trap to me.

and without ult, awkward spell rotations, or some other slow, hecarim will just get kited and not be spamming anything.

95% of the time hecarim will waste the first slow on gauntlets, in order to successful utilize the second proc, he'll have to hold on to his w/q, or wait 3+ seconds to cast q again but by then the target has kited him, or hec could ult which is obviously not going to be up all the time and is already a hard cc.

he'll only start get use out of the slow after being in melee range combat for several seconds.

the only problem with trinity hec is that you HAVE to snowball in order to get it rolling quickly enough. damage hec is Go Ham or Go Home

sounds like you're compunding the problem here.

You should try item 3022 item 3078 or item 3022 item 3071 on Hecarim in stead. I prefer that combo personally, though it does take longer to build of course.

i also don't agree with wording it as a "noob trap" that tends to imply that the thing in question is a waste as a whole, which isn't the case for this, hec is only wasting one part of one proc in one insistence. i would stay the item no longer synergizes with hec when before it was a pretty good option.

but focusing on these interaction

i don't expect them to make a single acceptation to how the slow on the item works just for hec. what they could do it change how hecs e places the slow field so that its placed where your target lands rather then were you hit them.

Tbh its not that bad, If you knock them backwards away from their team / turret they not have a slow field behind them and cant walk back through it.

Or they could just make it so that for everyone the initial target the spellblade applies to gets a slow, but the zone stays the same. Should be an easier change for them to make.

thats literally exactly what they took off the item.

I thought that previously touching the slow zone would give you a slow debuff, so even if you were at the edge or if you dashed out it still kept the slow. Now it's coded so that you are slowed if you're in the zone and not slowed if you leave. The problem with Hec is that right as he procs the zone he also pushes them out, meaning his target doesn't get slowed. My suggestion is to debuff the initial target but have the slow zone work how it is now.

Could be that I am wrong about what they changed though, and if so oops.

it should just explode out of the target hit slowing all enemys in the blast rather than a zone that drops

Its not necessarily terrible on hecarim since a good hecarim will engage with his ult first BEHIND the enemy's carry into devastating charge. This lets you herd their back-line towards your team. If you don't have ult though then it would be a bit of a waste, and with the new hecarim change coming (increased knock back the further you travel) amplify the pros and cons with the ice-born interaction.
