Draven - Axe algorithm

I haven't played Draven for years until I recently tired him again. I couldn't but notice that the way his axes land has been changed.

I know that after his release pressing "s" (stop button) after an auto attack would make the axe land right in front of your feet. This apparently doesn't work anymore.

Also standing still and attacking a target would lead to axes landing on different spot for continious attacks on the same target, without moving.

I have absolutely no idea what rules his axes now abide after the alogrithm got changed.

Can anybody help me out?

When you hit something it moves in the direction you are running and in 1 of 3 distances away, far left, far right and center You don't really know where it's going to go, but you must be aware of the direction you are running or it will fly further back/ forth then you want.

Yea, that more or less what I've figured and hasn't changed to much from before.

But how does it determine where the axes land when standing still and attacking a standing target? The axes seem to jump randomly.

My guess is that Riot didn't want Draven to just be able to stand still to maintain his damage steroid so they made it so that you have to move at least slightly to maintain your steroid. The direction, slightly left or slightly right, is likely random if you are standing completely still.

You know how for kalista you move click during your attack animation and it skips to that direction after? Is the same for draven, click the direction you want the axes to go, or if you are attacking in place, the Axe will land directly next to you+off a few pixels in either direction
