Quick tip: how to ward objectives

Just noticed this in my last game where a few teammates got caught out pretty bad trying to ward baron/dragon.

If your team has no wards near these objectives (tsk.. tsk...) , and the enemy team is missing from the map, you simply can't just walk in to the river and throw a ward. You're almost definitely going to get caught and killed.

So what do you do? Ward sequentially over walls.

For example: You're on blue side and going in to a Baron area with no vision.

Well first, you can take the easy route and just use blue trinket... much safer than trying to get close enough. Let's just assume though that you don't have blue trinket (you can't switch because of the cooldown).

  1. go from your Tier 2 top lane turret in towards your blue buff. Throw your first ward over the large wall between blue buff and river. There should be a big enough buffer here to prevent you getting caught (unless the area is warded by the enemy and they have a long range engage such as blitzcrank / thresh/morgana to grab you from over the wall.

  2. If your first ward spots any enemy - back out and wait for your team (unless you're the tank and it spots them doing baron... then use your judgment). If your ward spots no one, you now can proceed to ward more aggressively. Walk where you have vision and throw a ward in front of the Baron pit.

The point is, you're not going to be able to ward the river bush that most teams bait in. If you go for that bush, you're going to get caught and killed before you're within range to ward it. The best you can do is, if you're someone like Lux, use a long ranged ability towards that bush and hope it gives you vision of someone hiding there.

What purpose is there in warding that bush anyways? If the enemies ARE hiding there, you're dead. If they're not, the ward is wasted as they're clearly not at Baron.

Just a thought. Agree, disagree? Any other tips when trying to establish vision late game near major objectives?

I'm a support main this is what I do in my uber low elo. I try do ward river and dragon/ baron with the same ward, just put in the entrance of dragon/ Baron pit. Although I attempt to do this when I know where 3 + enemies are. Also, i tend to throw wards over the walls.

As for warding that one bush, that's happened to me a few times. Mostly because I'm the only one fighting for vision control on my team. Granted it was my fault for being at the wrong spot and the wrong time.
