Solo queue vs Duo queue ranked

For climbing ranked, is it noticably better to duo or solo? I often feel as my teammates are holding me back, because if a lane does well, or just goes even, or even slightly starts to lose, I, as a jungle main, rush to help, and with cooperation we win 90% of the time. the problem comes when i get teams that have adcs that go 0-7 in the first 10 minutes, and a top lane that goes even, and a top lane asking for help when hes 0-0.. I guess my question is, having a person im friends with in my game, even if hes in a lane and im jungle, is that going to help my chance? how do you deal with teammates that cant seem to compete?

There's no significant difference between solo or duo queue. Duo queueing bumps up the Elo you get matched in, meaning games will be harder for your skill level. That said, increased coordination with the ADC/support combo, or mid/jg combo, or top/jg combo (this is in order of duo-queue strength/effectiveness) can provide an advantage to mitigate the higher matchmaking Elo.

If you're a jungle main, IMO find a friend that plays mid. If you don't have one, just play solo. Jungle is easy to control games with, there will always be unwinnable games but if you don't have >50% win rate then it's you who's doing badly too.
