Get first blood.

It's not about the gold, it's about the huge psychological effect it has on every player on both teams. People are never playing at their full potential in games, concentration might be lacking, they might be on tilt, etc etc. The best way to win games is change the mood in either a positive way on your team or a negative way on the enemy and getting first blood does both.

That single announcement can really dictate the pace for the rest of the game and if taken advantage of can often lead to a relatively easy victory. Of course this doesn't mean you should always play crazy aggressive early to try and kill your opponent, but it's good to be aware of the effect it can have and capitalize on opportunities should they appear.

I wouldn't exactly say that first blood specifically is the best way to win, but you make a good point of how setting a positive mood for your team is a good way to win. It's all about those mind games. For example my personal favorite is to camp the shit out of whoever complains about my camping.

The reason I say it's the best is because it's the simplest and quickest way to give your team a psychological boost at the beginning of the game. While of course there are many other factors that go into winning a game getting fb really helps get the ball rolling.

Getting first blood increases your win rate from a 50% to a 60%. That's a huge boost - almost as big as which team has a 1K gold lead at 10 minutes or whoever takes the first tower.
