This fother mucker is really trying my patience, yet I can't find a single mention of an upcoming nerf/desire fr nerf on the boards, which leads me to assume there's something I'm missing. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO TO STOP THIS GUY IN SOLO Q??!??!?!?!?!?!???! LETS TRY HARASSING EARLY, OOPS I RUN OOM BEFORE HE GETS LOW BECAUSE PASSIVE LET'S TRY KILLING HIM MID GAME, CANNOT 1V1 HIM BECAUSE SILENCE LAST 5 DAYS AND DISGUSTING TRUE DAMAGE ULTIMATE LET'S TRY KILLING HIM LATE GAME, NEEDS 4V1 BECAUSE HE REQUIRES 2 TANKS' AND A SUPPORT'S WORTH OF CC TO KEEP HIM DOWN LONG ENOUGH FOR THE ADC/MID TO KILL HIM. Real talk......why does he have such huge scalings.......? He has a huge silence which is easy to hit and a knockup/slow that while hard to hit is very rewarding if you do, and a true damage ultimate that passively makes him even more tanky (might also mention here, that monstrosity scales off AP too). I don't think all that needs assassination level damage on an ADC as well....

But that's getting ahead of myself, before I take this to Gold and below Gameplay and Balance, IS THERE SOMETHING I'M MISSING. Cos for the life of me I can't see it, my only solution right now is banning him.

I used to play Cho top a lot in the last half of season 4 and I think he has the same weaknesses since then. His big fault is that he's slow even with runes(he can't shorten his animations). Hit him with mobility champions. Also early his cooldowns are pretty sizeable. So if he's top I'd suggest Quinn or Urgot. Darius' passive is op against his healing (you don't even have to expend mana to make him bleed). Also if you can stay at a distance from his ult then do it. There's no reason to be in his face unless your kit forces you to and a lot of champions who are that close are tanky.

I haven't played with or against him mid much so I can't help you there.

If all else fails, pick him yourself and figure out the weaknesses that way. He is fun to play, easy to learn, and relatively cheap.

The best way I have found to ruin Cho'gath's life is to play Katarina if he goes mid.

I know what you're thinking, "Oh but cho can stop her ultimate!" Well the sad fact is that a good Katarina should never be close enough to him to let that happen. Kat should not be trying to kill Cho in lane after level 6. It can't happen. But Cho also cannot touch Katarina for the entirety of laning phase. Katarina does not use mana so she is free to chip away at his health with her Q, dodge his knockup (every time) with her E and get free Q procs with her W because his silence is pretty useless once his knockup is on cooldown.

Shove him into tower and roam.

Cho'Gath has high mana costs, is easily kited by high mobility champs, and (most importantly) becomes considerably weaker after a death. Sure, when he is at 6 stacks he is a brutal behemoth. But you kill him once and his health drops, and it becomes easier to kill him again. He is a snowballing champion that can snowball in either direction.

Who are you playing vs. Cho?

Cho's laning is really powerful but you can outcarry him and maybe even outlane him with the right picks.

Fizz Unexpected choice but Fizz dodging Cho's rapture can 100-0 cho with ignite at level 5 onward. You have kill potential before he starts stacking his ults. The issue with this matchup is my team fed theirs and I couldn't carry through Cho's silence and my team being behind

Champs that straight up outrange and outcarry Cho'Gath.

Corki I play mid Corki extremely effectively. Versus cho you can rush a bilgewater for sustain and even rush ruined king if you want. Or just go triforce.

More candidates: Cassiopeia Azir both broken if mastered

I've found that garen does well vs him top lane boys edit: as for mid (god only knows why) malzahar does well vs him in lane.

From my experience, I'd say anyone mobile and extremely bursty who can keep him from getting his stacks up is good against him. I had a game as cho mid the other day, and early on they abused me to pieces as vel'koz (tons of poke, and even though I heavily out farmed him, his base damage kept him relevant enough to be a huge pain in the butt). the thing that made his poke stick though was a Morellonomicon. That thing is a nightmare for Cho, because it cripples his sustain if you poke him low enough. Late game, their Yi and Kalista got fed, and both are mobile and bursty enough that even though I was super farmed (I had over 20 CS on everyone in the game until right at the end, and still by 13 at that point), they could just dance around my CC and burst me down, which kept me from being able to stack at all. That said, once I got a couple minutes of breathing room and got my stacks back up, they had a much harder time dealing with me in the next fight.

Basically, to beat Cho'gath, you need to get him behind and keep your heel on his head to keep him down or else he'll make a comeback.

Cho needs nerfs so bad, he is trying my patience too. Haven't won a game against him and haven't lost a game without him in ranked since Gold 5 I am now Plat 5.

Cho's mana pool is quite small and his costs are high. So if you're the one going OOM before he does, you're doing something wrong. Or playing Poppy.

The best way to foil a Cho is to play a champion with poke and even a slight amount of mobility. The mobility will keep you safe from his Q, which should be the only thing he's in range to hit you with. Then, you poke him down every time he tries to last hit to sustain himself. Ezreal does this really well. Caitlyn can work as a solo laner. Gangplank with his ability to cleanse and heal from being hit by a Q can fill Cho's face with bullets. Gragas can poke and belly flop around. Katarina can throw daggers and hop around all day. Nidalee spears can eat Cho alive. Zed is Zed.
