Kindred -- what're they like?

So, I'm thinking of saving up the IP to buy Kindred (at 5.5k so far), but I want to know a few things:

  • What's their playstyle like? Are they just an ADC, where you click people to death, or is there more involved? Are they dynamic, or more spammy?

  • How much does their VO talk about death? I have anxiety, and it gets really bad if I think about that kind of stuff, so just how dark is their VO?

  • How versatile are they? I enjoy champs that I can take to multiple lanes/roles effectively.

  • Are they strong, and can I kill people solo, or do I need backup to do anything?

  • Can Q be used to flip over walls?

Those are the big things I want to know, but you can feel free to add anything you like. Thanks for the help. ^^

I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge:

  • If you're jungling Kindred is a counter-jungling/ganking style champion. Kindred thrives on killing enemy laners and also gains strength through poaching enemy camps. Kindred is moderately mobile and has some small amounts of sustain in their kit. Kindred also has delayed burst in their kit through the E ability. Kindred is not very good at running from an enemy and is more comfortable in situations where it is required that the team stays and fights and defends/sieges an objective. In a fight Kindred will either chase or kite their target staying at the very edge of enemy attack range. Kindred is nimble and dodgey with a 2 second cooldown on Q while W is active. Even with a shortened cooldown Kindred isn't just a spam and click champion, there is some timing involved with when you press Q. Kindred's ultimate is what you use for standing and fighting, surviving through an enemy burst or just preventing death from occuring for a short while. Kindred's ultimate can heal the enemy so you NEED to stay and defend that spot. It is best used when you are near death and a full health enemy is converging on you. Kindred's true damage auto attacks can whittle them down and by the time the ultimate ends you can usually inch out your opponent through sheer DPS and willpower.

  • Here is the entirety of Kindred's voice over. It's not that dark if you ask me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpQRZCoMKGs

  • Kindred could go jungle, top, ADC and mid. Jungle is Kindred's preferred role where Kindred can traverse the map and just harass and plunder the enemy jungler. Kindred lacks crowd control, range, tankiness and reliable support abilities for being able to support. Kindred is a crap ADC due to range limitations and how some of Kindred's abilities will "push" the wave unintentionally. Mid lane again lacks range and burst. Top lane is the ideal spot for Kindred. Kindred is similiar to Quinn's playstyle in the top lane. Harass and kite.

  • Kindred can kill people through sheer damage alone. But Kindred lacks hard CC so while acting alone Kindred is more likely to force a back or a flash then forcing a kill. Kindred is a feast or famine champion so Kindred either is a force to be reckoned with or a complete push over. It all depends on your early game decision making and a little bit of luck. Late game Kindred can be a terror because of the true damage. Gather your marks and ward because the enemy sees your marks too and can set up an ambush for you or steal the marks away from you.

  • Yes, Q can be used to hop over walls but only the thin walls. You can hop over the side walls on the monster camps but you literally have to be touching the wall prior to hopping over for it to work. The wall by dragon and Baron pits are more easily hopped over and the thin walls by the river bush can also be hopped over the easiest.

Just some subtle intricacies about Kindred's kit: Kindred can mark enemy champions for death. While marked they take 40% increased damage from you. Killing them gives you a mark and allows you to deal more true damage. But you can also use it in other ways. Like use it to play mind games with an enemy thinking you are nearby and about to kill them when really you're on the other side of the map. You can also mark the enemy tank and use your true damage to kite and whittle down their hp and get through their defenses with your true damage.

Just for the record, since I've seen multiple people make this mistake, Kindred does not have true damage. The stacks they gain give % current health damage. Similar to BoRK.

They are what Quinn looks like if they hadn't botched her and left her in the gutter.

Basically, Kindred has an on-demand Kalista with runaan's mode zone where they do extra damage and get super mobile.

Also they have a slow ability with a brief Vayne 3 hit proc attack except it procs physical instead of true and is a bit weaker, and a Bard-style ulti but a little different.

PERFECT SENSE

I have about 25 games into her. my first tip is PLAY HER MID. she is a hardcounter to burstmages, with that bs ult, she let's them waste their combo, she can q out of all skillshot, and stop their farm. if against an assasin you completely stop their farm with your OP w.
