Check my match history. My favorite champions to play are ekko, Sion, and olaf, and Ekko and Sion i have a fair amiount of ranked games and a large amount of nromals (15 mastery for both), but I SUCK at them. Menahwile my best champs are WW, TF, and Yi all of whom I find rather boring (TF is fun but I can rarely get mid, plus I like to play champions that noone else is known for, and GrossGore is already mlg at tf like boxbox with riven.)
RogueWill3 votesSucking at X champion is just matter of practice. Sure you may never be as good as you could possible be as Y champion but as long as you have a decent level and you enjoy playing them it shouldn't matter.

then i end up experimenting with new champs and losing
redniwediS1 votesTry changing your frame of mind when experimenting. When you're learning something new your goal should not still be to win, but rather to learn. Even if the large defeat sign shows up at the end of the game you've only lost if you didn't learn anything from that match.
IawfuInoodIe1 votesWatch some videos and see if you can use some mechanics from them on the champions you like to play, otherwise try to create custom runes if you don't already have some for each champion you like. Just keep practicing and you'll get better! Good luck and have fun on the rift!! :D
