What are the ways in which RNG impact league?

Hello folks, I just saw the latest video by Extra Credits:

And it got me thinking, how do these equations pertain to league, or other games we know for that matter?

We perceive matchmaking to be RNG, and we perceive crit chance to be RNG, And Zoe's W is RNG... anything else? Crit chance can be very high frustration if you get crit early in the game, because it sets you up with disadvantages that affect your time cost of the entire game. But getting crit on later in the game isn't nearly as frustrating. Do you think this holds up under the examination of the equations presented in the video?

I remember playing Warframe and grinding for multiple days with a friend to have the RNG loot tables fuck us over 30 or 40 times straight. The time cost to that was the 20*x minutes we had to put into getting to that point (referring to the wave survival modes). Sometimes it took up to an hour. And on top of that we played multiple times. Overall our % chance of not getting the loot we wanted should have been decreasing, but that didn't happen. In the end the game wound up being too frustrating to be worthwhile, and I gave up playing it completely. This is why I think that PVE games should carry bad luck protection. What do you think?
