Impossible to pick off-meta top laners

And by off-meta I don't mean troll stuff like sona top or really unusual top lane picks like xerath or something.

I mean Hecarim, singed, poppy, jayce, j4, irelia, xin, wu etc.

There are just too many massive bullies in top lane like no other lane has. Ban Illaoi and you get garen, darius, or kled, all which dominate that lane so hard if you dont pick one of the other bullies your simply going to not have fun under turret or just lose lane unless they are bad and you outplay.

Ban Garen who is, btw, even more of a bully now that he has a shield for trades and scales with AS and does true damage on all targets with his ult, and they pick Illaoi now you have to enjoy the REAL minigame which isn't even dodging her stupid skillshot but playing mindgames with her to try and get 5g from her tentacles. Not to mention have to not engage, ever, when she has her ult up.

Ban Illaoi and you get garen or darius, who seems to trade OK until you realize the 4 stacks of bleed damage have put you 25% behind him in the trade, not to mention he healed it back up with his Q - which heals for way too much btw. Once he builds DD and spirit visage, he can legit heal from 10% to 100% by landing an edge Q on just you and your jungle. Then resetting true damage ult...

All this is made worse by it being an isolated lane, and the most game defining objective right now, rift herald, is right up there so if you and your jungler die to a gank or countergank or whatever, their chance of winning increased exponentially because they will get rift and push 2 turrets no problem.

Top lane is a shit mess and these bullies need to be toned down. This isn't counting if for some luck you dont get one of these bullies to deal with, your likely gonna get one of the ranged matchups up top like vayne, ryze or quinn, who will mess any of these picks up anyway.

Mid isn't the same at all, nor is bot. You can apc bot quite easily, even irelia or yasuo bot without too much trouble if you dont see the enemy having a heavy poke lane. Can take mages as sp without an issue.

And mid used to be just mages, now many assassins, and even melee top laners can have fun mid - garen, irelia, wu, xin, nocturne, panth, riven, jayce, aatrox etc. Theres just a handful of champs that don't work well mid.

Top lane is all about: Renek, Darius, Garen, Kled, illaoi, fiora (ridiculously overbuffed rn) yorick, malphite, nasus (used to be a 25 min online champ now is a nightmare even at 10 min if you don't pick a counterpick and play right), mordekaiser (one more massive bully you will feed endlessly if you dont pick another bully), panth (more bully), tryn or urgot. That might seem like a decent pool, 13 champs, but when the full roster is 145 champs, it is obnoxious that you are forced to roll a heavy dice and go feast or famine if you pick anything other than these champs in that lane.
