There is no lategame

It's a lie. Every time you feel like going item 3508 Sivir, going Urgot top with full scaling runes or something like that, you're wrong. After 20 minute mark you may find your team losing horribly, you may try to use your lategame advanced 360 no scope tactics, but hey, guess what, they won't work vs fed champs. And the only words you want to say are: "BUT MUH LATEGAME SCALING". Or you may find yourself on the winning team, happily csing somewhere far away from the team with average KDA, while 18-0 Riven with item 3141 soloes opponents' entire team. Then you win and you feel like all proud and stylish, right?

There is lategame only if you lost early, but never expect to get into lategame right away, best way to win is finishing early. The only thing that matters is you winning your lane/your role by all means. You only go scaling runes if they won't be a hindrance to your laning. Otherwise, always go flat runes, build whatever is needed to win your lane/role item 3134 item 1038 item 1058 item 1054 item 3209. Build defensive as mid/top item 1029 item 3191 item 1031 item 1057 if you feel like your opponent has more damage than you even if you buy damage items. Always prioritize objectives like dragons/towers/baron. Don't think your opponents are stupid and you don't need to counter them, there is a reason for whatever they do. ("Hey, Xerath is going to shoot something at me I think I'm just going to walk a straight line") Take that victory, be a man!

The only thing that actually matters is having a Vayne on your team with 6 items.

A Veigar with 2K AP works too

Eh, late game only matters if you don't feed. Snowballing is a thing, if someone gets a chunk ahead they're going to help their whole team get ahead.

If the teams are relatively even, the late game scaling will win it. Even if you're behind a few thousand gold and a few kills, if it's close you'll win late game.

The issue in low elo solo queue with playing a late game champ is that you can't help your teammates early. If you're on an early/mid game champ and get ahead a bit and the other 2 lanes are feeding/losing, you can push down a turret ending laning phase and roam to their lanes and get them back in to the game. You can use your presence in team fights to stop them from getting destroyed by their opponent who is now not only a better player but also ahead. If you're on a late game hypercarry? All you can do is farm up and hope your team magically stops feeding and just turtles until 40min. Worse yet the people ahead are going to roam to your Lane and stop your farm.

Basically my point is, if you have a late game hypercarry or a late game team comp, your team needs to know that going in and play early to lose as little as possible (rather than to win as much as possible). The reason it doesn't work in solo queue is your top and mid lanes won't care that you have a vayne at 95% cs bot Lane, they're still going to tower dive for their kill and die because the jungler showed up. In solo queue everyone is of the mindset that if they individually don't carry, they're going to lose. There is no teamwork of letting your hyper carry get ahead and win the game for you.
