Ok how do i carry low elo as a support? Or should i not even play supp in low elo? I was gold before reset havnt done all my placements yet. But i just get horrible games and idk what to do when im supp i cant do dmg. I can peel but im not god theres a limit. For example the cait literaly walks up to a jax. I mean shes cait she has the highest adc range. And i ward constantly, but like one game i had the bot side jg warded they had just killed cait bot and we clearly see them in the jungle and the ziggs just decides to walk right up to them. Like what am i supposed to do? I ward and they dont pay attention to the wards, i peel so they think they can walk right up in melee range to champs. Another thing they usually just let me die for free. One fight i was saving someone from there adc. After that there adc turned on me. My team was at baron and i was near it too and i was like ok you can get baron for me dieing im cool with that....but they didnt even get baron. They just give up stuff for free

Honestly I feel like good supports don't get enough credit in the low ELO divisions (bronze, silver, gold). I'd honestly suggest you main a role you can carry with until you hit something higher such as plat and then revert to playing support. I've talked to support mains on Twitch in the diamond/masters tier and that is basically the advice they give their viewers. Not even the best support can carry an ADC who hasn't a clue what their doing...

Well as a bot lane main, these are my ways to carrying my (trash) ADCs:

  1. Play lane bullies. Lane bullies. Lane bullies. E.G.: Nami, Blitzcrank, Thresh I don't suggest you to play passive or tank supports like Soraka or Braum (I mean seriously "LATE GAME" doesn't matter as a support. You want to be snowball your ADC more than yourself. We know these support's late game are really good but if you can't make plays early game using their kit then why play?). If your ADC is passive af if you're support Soraka = farm fest lane = no snowball potential = increase chances of losing especially if you're laning against hypercarries like Vayne, Trist.

Lane bullies can a. Zone CS, allowing your ADC to farm freely b. Deal a lot of damage, can force enemy ADC to recall c. Potentially snowball your ADC

Nami, Blitz, Thresh can a. Zone CS b. Deal a lot of damage (especially early game where ADCs are squishy af- OH wait they are always squishy xd) c. Potentially snowball your ADC

I play Nami, Blitz, Thresh because no matter how bad your ADC is (but not TOO bad), you can still carry them.

  1. Debate between ignite and exhaust for some games - In Bronze/Silver, supports get exhaust because "muh peelz" "SUPPORT MUST GET EXHAUST IF YOU GET IGNITE ILL REPORT U". I used to get exhaust every game, too, but seriously, if you have ignite, your snowball potential/winning lane potential will be significantly higher. You don't get ignite every game, though, and vice versa. It all depends on the situation.

Exhaust a. Enemy team has assassins/duelists like Zed, Riven. "But muh late game ADC so fed need exhaust what do!!" pls. Most of them have 550 range. I can't even touch them, especially if they know how to kite. Especially Vayne. So FUK fed ADCs, I only get exhaust when they have Zed, Riven, Lee, stuff like that. b. I need to peel (really subjective here)! Like, I only get exhaust when I'm playing bot lane with a duo partner. c. I am playing a traditional support. Like Janna, like Nami. Like Soraka. Like Sona.

Ignite a. Significantly increase your potential of winning lane - especially with ignite, where you have 50% more kill pressure than enemy bot lane if they have exhaust. b. It counters heal (grievous wounds). Those ADCs don't even know what hit them. c. You can burn enemy ADC's heal! I bet ADCs will heal their support if ignited. Plus, heal's CD is 240 secs while ignite's CD is 210 secs (which is 30 seconds shorter). I like it. d. You can clean up a low HP enemy target. Proceed to type "/all ayy 1v1 me scrub" Kappa e. Lane bully. Blitzcrank, Thresh especially. Sometimes I do regret not getting exhaust, though, especially when enemy LB is fed af.

  1. Get "Support items" Since it isn't your job to deal damage (unless you're tentacle senpai Velkoz or plant gril Zyra or Karma), you should get some support items. Enemy team has AoE/2 or more magic damage > item 3190 Need to peel for ADC/teammates in general > item 3222 I always build those two items so yeah :^)

Conclusion: Play lane bullies, avoid playing passive support unless you're sure you can make plays with them, and get ignite if you're using them. Get support items and peel for your teammates. GL; HF :^)

It generally depends on the champion you are playing.

Poke Supports for example are more like anti-carries than actual carries imo. Your job is to have as much presence in lane and harass the hell out of the enemy ADC so badly that you begin to zone them and then starve them of minion gold, easily the most important resource to an ADC. Done properly, you can essentially turn the game into a 5v4, as the enemy ADC will be a non factor if pushed far enough behind. Past the laning phase, poke supports transition into defensive based supports, either peeling for their primary carries with their CC, or acting as your team's secondary form of wave clear. Carrying with these champions is all about negating your opponent's strong points.

On the exact other side of the spectrum, Hard Engage Supports need to create as many picks as possible. In laning phase, this is obvious. If the opponent overextends or if the enemy support blows an important ability, engage. If you and your ADC are already ahead, engage. Etc. etc. After the laning phase however, picks are entirely different. Yes, you can break stalemates and sieges by engaging on someone who overextends or if someone on the enemy team blows a good team fight ability; that's how you properly engage a 5v5, but that's a job for the main battle tank (Jungle or Top) imo. As a support, your job is to ward aggressively and try to find anyone who's running around alone. See an enemy trying to roam through your Jungle? Ping a carry to come with you and ambush the target. Carrying with these champions is all about abusing your opponent's weaknesses.

If possible stick to mid or jungle. Those are the easiest role to carry from since it depends only from you and nothing else. However that is not always possible. Carrying from support is actually not that hard as it looks (carry from top is much harder unless you are someone like a fed riven and adc is also hard since you need some kind of peel to deal damage hence you need your team)

During laning phase get your adc as fed as possible (giving him 5 or 6 kills should compensate for how bad your adc is) if she is already fed ike 4/0 in the first 15 min don't be afraid to take a few kills yourself and don't forget to roam mid. A roaming support can also get mid fed and the only thing better than a fed carry is a fed team. If that is not possible (maybe your opponents are also quite skilled or you are having a bad game) go for supports that can make plays late game, don't go for supports like soraka or blitzcrank which does really good during the laning phase but then fell hard; leo, janna and thresh are my personal favorite but allistar, braum and to some extent lulu and nami can also work.

During mid games, rotate lanes. Although your main priority is your adc your role is to support the whole team not just the adc. I have leave lanes with my adc 1/4 or 0/3 quite behind and go mid or top during mid game to support them instead. if your tower is gone (which probably is) the enemy adc is highly likely to follow you and his/her support will follow it which could potentially leave your adc with free farm bot catching up (make sure you ward river and tribush so it doesn't get caught thou)

During late game try make plays that end is positive results for your team, if your adc is that bad to walk into a jax just pair up with a mid and a top and force a 3v2 on mid lane, don't be afraid to go for skirmishes, team fighst looks flashy but is not always the best option. Sometimes waiting for the right opportunity is better than just fight every battle. Carrying as support may seeems hard since youc an't do it alone like a fed akali or a fed talon but take in mind that you just need one good player on your team to be able to carry and it doesn't have to be the adc.

You've been doing fine on support in your ranked matches. You had one bad game; it'll happen that you get an idiotic adc (or any teammate) and you can't do anything about it. Unless you take a mage support (like Annie) and just feed yourself to carry the game.

Find a competent ADC and duo ranked with them.
