Whats with all the auto fill QQ threads?

Do all of you not realize your 20x more likely to get the role you want now then you ever were before when it was pick order mode? "Back in my day all we had was pick order, you young people got it easy" All we had was draft mode, and a lot of times you drew the short straw and werent first pick so you had to sit there with your tail between your legs and swallow all your self pride and beg for first pick not to take your role.

Been around since S2. Autofill is still trash.

Back when I started in S3, Pick Order was a thing. We all knew there was a chance we could be put into any role, we said our "pref X Y Z" but that meant nothing. Pick Order was God and it decided our fates. So most people who cared about Ranked could comfortably play all roles in case no one was willing to compromise. Good times for me because I mained Support then.

Auto-fill is different because last season we were able to pick our roles and therefore only played those 2 roles (for the most part). So most people learned only a few champions into 2 roles and played them for an entire year. Now with Auto-fill activated not only are you not sure what role you are going to get, but not many people have experience with every role right now. If Auto-fill is here to stay, I'd say around mid season people will start to play all roles again.

Some advice for those who get auto-filled: DODGE! Don't waste your time playing a role you don't want to. You are going to lose the game for your team and cost you and them precious LP. Just dodge and take the 3 LP punishment, it is 100x better than wasting 40+ minutes for a highly potential loss. Some of you may be thinking "Why do I need to dodge because Auto-fill is a stupid system?" well the answer is simple: It is your fault you can't play all the roles comfortably... Take the time to learn every role with at least 2 champions or dodge when you get autofilled, those should be your two options because playing a champion and role you are uncomfortable with is not ok.

I honestly prefer auto-fill over pick-order. Think you get tilted being auto-filled into support? Try calling your role then someone else tell you to go fuck yourself as they insta-lock for the role you wanted then feel their ass off. I'll gladly get auto-filled into support or trade someone who doesn't want it. I don't want to sign-up for support, but I don't have a problem with doing it, especially if it keeps a crybaby from tilting complaining all game about it.

It's called the Fading Affect Bias. Essentially we remember good things better than bad things. It's why people always talk about the past as "the good old days" forgetting all the crap that happened back then. They literally don't remember the crap.

Honestly my memories said that the community was slightly better back then and rolecalling still usually worked.

I've played since season 2. Yes, you're right, with old ranked you were less likely to get your role. Did you play last season however? It had all of the exclusiveness of letting you pick your two preferred roles, without autofil. So in the sense of last season, you're wrong.

I honestly prefer the old model XD. Yes people stole roles more often, but still happens and they still cant play the role they stole.

At least then, people actually bothered to learn all roles. Now most Autofill Supps can't do shit well as Supp. Pains me soul as a Supp main meself to see em wipper snappers cant wipe their own arse much less their ADCs if they are autofilled as Supp.

If I'm 20x more likely to get the role I want and I'm getting the role I don't want 20x as often too, does this mean nothing changed?

Who let this old guy in here. Go back home and yelled at kids to get off your lawn. :P

But on a real note I don't have a problem with auto fill. I think that its fine and if you really don't like auto fill or want a role you want, play support for one game then play 2 or 3 game when auto fill isn't on. Or are you to good to support?
