Yes that's a jungling item on Soraka.. Stop tilting and keep playing !! QQ

Let me explain again. Because I play with hp5 runes, I can cast an heal every 10 seconds or so with Soraka in any phase during the game. I spend my entire HP pool in less then 2 minutes. I EXPECT to cast about 20-30 heals in a single back. This mean I'll spend 200%-300% of my bonus hp.

For instance If i buy a ruby, it will first gives me 150hp, but i'll pay 300-450hp. I end up with a negative stat. I lose another 400gp of stats... With that in mind i'd pay 1200 gold for a sightstone. It would take me about 30 minutes just to break even compared to simply buying wards and investing the remaining into something immediately useful.

On the other hand, a quill is 400gp of armor (which I benefit instantly) and a permanent ward that cost 300 gold instead of 75. Really, even if i was never placing that ward again and I was never taking any hit from any monster camp,I'd only waste 225 gold.

I'm saying that because there is no reason to go on tilt and rage on me for the remaining of the game. I've lost countless games already because players just start whining about me that I should I bought a sightstone instead of a quill because we need vision. When I bought the quill FOR VISION anyway. Sometime, I even bought the extra ward and I have 3 ward on the map when my teamates go on tilt on me. LOL. Obviously there is something else which is wrong with that game, players just stick into blaming me instead of looking elsewhere for the REAL problem. Some went so far as arguing with me to sell the quill (losing 210 gold) in order to buy the sighstone. Instead of buying a ward and just placing it where they want it to be.

Tl;dr . Just stop tilting when you see a tree and take a look at the forest to figure out what you can fix instead..

I thought we covered this fairly thoroughly in the previous thread, where you tried to justify not buying a Sightstone on Soraka because you felt that the +health had sufficient negative gold value to make it a bad buy. That's your right if you want to go on believing that, but you are mathematically incorrect.

Your team should not rage at you just because you are making a bad decision. But the wrongness of everything that you're doing with your build makes you look a lot like an intentional troll. Not like AP Ashe levels of troll. AP Riven levels of troll. You've put enough effort into this post and the previous thread for me to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you're serious, but your decisions are SO far off from the correct way to play that it is very tempting to accuse you of trolling.

You can—just barely—make the argument that Quill Coat is a passable alternative to Sightstone for extra wards. However, in your op.gg profile, I can see that in your last 20 games (all Soraka support), you frequently purchase a Spirit Stone too. Spirit Stone grants no stats. None. Stats from Spirit Stone? There aren't any. How many of your stats increase when you buy it, and by how much? Oh, zero of them and zero amount. It grants a single passive ability that only works when damaging jungle monsters. If you try telling me that it's a worthwhile purchase because you need to steal back some life while assisting with Dragon and Baron, well, I'd no longer be able to give you the benefit of the doubt.

In addition to this, you're also doing a lot of things wrong that a.) are very obvious novice mistakes, and b.) were already pointed out in the previous thread. You've chosen not to correct them, np, that is your right (again). But any observations that you make about what a support Soraka should buy are essentially worthless because of how far off you are from anything resembling a correct way to play. And it is unreasonable to have the expectation that your team won't correct you on your mistakes on a regular basis. They should not be rude, but likewise you should not be obstinate about playing the game this way when your team objects.

To briefly sum up: Quill Coat, Spirit Stone, no Sightstone, no boots, teleport instead of flash, you take tons of cs away from your team, NO WARDS (1 green ward purchased in 20 games), NO PINK WARDS (0 pink wards purchased in 20 games), no red trinket, and frequently no support income item (only 12 purchased in 20 games).

People, please don't do what he's doing.

im confused as to why your building quill coat as soraka im willing to accept this if your explanation is reasonable but i still dont get why you bought a quill coat

Why is your carry getting hit so much for you to even consider casting 20-30 heals before backing?

FantasySniper11/18/2014, 6:13:49 AM2 votes

Umm. Sightstone is infinitely more valuable to Soraka than Quill Coat.

WTF are you doing, m8?

You heal THAT MUCH?! Why? Is your marksman blind, deaf, and dumb? Just because you can heal every ten seconds, does not mean you should. If you pop a heal for every insect bite, of course you're going to burn through health like there's no tomorrow. Yes, having a support kit that dislikes building HP was stupid on Riot's part, but it's not like you're slapping a item 3083 on her. Someone did the math on HP granting items and Soraka and concluded item 2049 isn't that big of a deal. item 3065 actually grants Soraka a positive net gain, even with a sightstone. item 3190 was a positive gain despite granting health as well.

So build a sightstone, just get a spirit visage as well. And stop popping heal over every little thing.

Well I figured that there could be 1 exception to that "no health" rule. If I already have both a seraph embrace and a rabaddon, a rod of age would give a heal ratio of 1.3:1 . Which is still not a great heal ratio, but the roa gives me 40% more hp and about 15% more efficiency on my skills which gives is a total of more then 50% buff in a single slot in late game. Since it also patch my low health, it's quite an attractive choice.

This being said, If i have only 1 slot left to build an item and can't yet finish that roa, I hav 2 options : a wand, or the catalyst. Since the seraph+rabaddon+some runes combo makes my AP over 400 already, building yet another wand would only increase my AP by 10% which would increase my total efficiency by not much then 5%. On the other hand, since I still have no health at all, the catalyst could increase my survivability by 12%. Of course my heal power would shrnk. But with that 400AP i'm over a 3:1 ratio anyway and it doesnt really matter that much.

Neither the wand or the catalyst are gold efficient, nor they are really slot efficient. But I had the gold and I was in the shop so...

The Sightstone cost 1200 gold (800 gold + 400 gold of negative stats) for 3 wards per back and is sold for 320.

The Quill cost 300 gold (700 - 400gp of armor) for 1 ward every 180 seconds and can be sold for 490 gold

So even if you back in exactly 3 minutes everytime (which is nuts of course) and you never get hit by a monster, the quill is still better for the cost. and is STILL cost efficient even if you sell it later to recover the slot in late game.

This is not the subject of this topic, but the spirit stone is built from a bead I'd otherwise have to sell at some point because it doesnt build into anything else. Which save me 60 gold in the cost. So I pay 640 gold and I can sell it for 490 gold at any point. So it truly cost me only 150 gold. It generate about 50 gold worth of potions every time I drop a starcall on a camp. And since I already have the quill I can farm the jungle just as fast as my jungler, The second starcall after 5 seconds generaly do the trick. I can also counter jungle on my free time which quickly generate more gold then that 150 initial gold.

wat?

build a coin it gives passive regen and gold generation bro

Ok, well ignoring the jungle item, you purchased an un-upgraded catalyst at 36 min. I don't think I've ever seen that, although I also have never seen Quill on Raka either. I don't think there is any good reason, but if you have one, please explain.
