All you need to know about bard
Bard is a very high skill champion. While I still have lot of room for improvement even after 30ish game, I feel like what hold me back is as well how my teammates behave around me. So I'm here to teach you.
-
Shrines charges. They make a little sound when fully charged. If bard didnt cast straight on you he intended for you to wait that sound.
-
Shrines are limited. They could last until the end of the game, but Bard still only have 3 maximum. So don't keep them for later, if you're damaged and there is a shrine take it ! So bard can use his CD for another one.
-
Bard's mana sustain principally come from chimes. He is FORCED to roam and holding him in place for too long will lead to no good. He run out of mana quickly. Don't get mad at him and don't force him into extended plays.
-
Bard is late game; He scale with chimes collection. Pretty well actually. Much like Nasus. This mean that he is at his weakest early game.
-
Bard is roaming. He is not glued to the adc. He can't because he needs mana. So he end up healing and counter ganking the mid and the jungle. Inversely, his adc won't get as much constant attention. The situation have to be expected. An adc must expect to lose a few cs and farm under tower more often. Assume that Bard is doing something that will make the mid or jungler snowball and keep your calm. As a return, the jungler land more often and longer in the bot lane.

Don't follow Bard everywhere. Bard from an outside eyes look unstable. He jump over wall just to come back. Or go in a section of the map where there is apparently no objectives at all. This is because he collect chimes. You shouldn't follow him everywhere. Keep your position wisely and he will come back to it if you need him.
-
in sticky situation go meet Bard. He have a group wall jump every 10 seconds. If you are stuck in the wrong position, he might as well make a door for you.
-
On the other side, he have a portal every 10 seconds to spam. it doesn't mean he want you to jump in all of them. I often spam a tunnel in a "maybe?" or even a big "no no" situation just in case or to force the enemies to position differently.

The ult is too good. I have the potential to make a 5v5 a succession of 5v2 and 5v3. If it works once in a full game, it will totally worth it. It's balanced by being exaggeratedly wide and having a disturbingly long delay once casted. It's also extremely versatile and therefore extremely hard to decide how and when to use it. This mean that the remaining 10 casts Bards will do will likely be mediocre if not totally bad. It's ok, it's not meant to be an epic success every time. Time is usually on bard's side. Don't get mad and don't expect a perfect play each time it's just not the way it works. Bard would be OP if it was that simple.

I will add to this list if anyone have a good comment to do :).
Use those tips are your Bard will perform much better.
