Can someone help me with support

Like half the games i support i get adcs who go support runes or take smite, and many other things. Some dont go in when i ping some dont go back when i ping. Its just beyond impossible in a lot of games. People tell me "well you should play better" how am i supposed to play better around that? Am i supposed to hack the game and make his champ do what hes supposed to do? How the heck do low elo supports gain rank? Is it my fault if i cant force them to follow when i team fight? Like if its my fault please explain how. If i roam mid as some say to do my adc dies. What am i supposed to do as support that im not seeing

The first key is advanced warning; Give him as much time as possible to be aware of an incoming threat so he can pull back. This of course, is done by proper warding and more pings than usual.

The second is to realize as early as possible that your ADC is a potato. The earlier you recognize his starch content as being higher than your salt levels, the sooner you can start stealing his CS and kills, and supporting your jungler or mid more.

You suffer it out. They just suck and you need to play a support that can possibly carry.

If you would like go to one of my first posts where I go into detail how to go from b2-p5 as support main.

First, it's okay to roam a bit. Especially past the laning phase, you are not the adc's slave. You babysit them during laning, but you are the team's support, not theirs. Some support mains consider themselves to be a second jungler in essence.

Always give your adc a heads up if you do, however, Drop a few wards. If your adc has the upgraded blue trinket, they're probably competent enough to be alone.

You have several options. You can gank a lane the normal way (particularly effective top lane, they never see you coming), choose to help a lane in particular snowball, set up dragon pit, or aid your jungler in ganking or objective control.

As a support, you are suppose to do your best to keep the adc alive/get them fed but it's not really your fault if your adc goes in by him/herself the support watches almost everything that's happening and you should always trust the support when it comes to engaging in fights, also is really doesn't matter what summoner spells the adc gets so don't worry people just prefer heal or be a little creative for example smite for vayne there's no problem with that, get smite devourer (sated) then you will be op.
