Let's all learn something from each other today. Donate 1 League tip to this thread :)

I ask for donations! This thread will serve as a medium for the community to combine our shared knowledge: everyone can walk out having learned something they didn't know before. I believe everyone has something worth sharing, be it a bronze or a diamond ranked player.

  1. Play Mind games. When they are about to use a skill shot, run in the opposite direction you intended to go. Don't try to get into the enemies' head: get into your own. Trust your instincts. This reduces dodging skill shots to a pseudo rock-paper-scizzors game. This tip is for those of us that just don't have the capacity to think in the enemies' place while trying to play our own champions.

  2. Move in different patterns e.g. zig-zag, triangular, and a square. Hovering over a minion to last hit it leaves you vulnerable because it cuts down on the amount of time available to dodge a skill shot (due to back tracking). Perform the last hit while moving in your patterns. No back tracking.

  3. Fun fact with Diana: if you hit R and then Q in close succession, your Q is no longer a skill shot but an unavoidable, click-targeted ability. Unfortunately, it does put R on cooldown.

  4. Zyra has a secret combo: E->Q->W->W. If you're the right distance away from the target, it will spawn 1 thorn spitter and 1 vine lasher. Has insane upfront burst.

A major one:

  1. K/D/A is not what wins games. Taking down objectives is what wins games. If you push an enemy out of lane, don't chase - hit that tower! Farming creeps is more lucrative than farming kills. Do not be afraid to die for the cause - if killing that tower will cost you a death, unless you're feeding your lane opponent already - take that tower. A tower for a death is a worthy trade.

  1. Save your silence or knock-up for Katarina's ult. Your team will love you.
  2. If someone has Banshee's Veil when you're Anivia, you can pop it with her Flash Frost and still detonate it for the stun afterward.
  3. Click the lantern. Thresh
  4. Furor boots do not stack with Sivir's passive.

  1. When playing warwick you can use your ultimate then flash right after to close long distances pretty fast.

  2. When playing akali and your shroud gets pinked you can use red trinket to disable it and go into stealth again (this works with all stealth champs).

  3. If your playing jayce vs akali when akali ults you and you are close to your tower knock her back into it because she goes behind you now.

  4. Jannas ult is really good for the knockback but it heals 600 at max rank with a 180% ap ratio so using it to save allies or using it in a teamfight when your team is taking a lot of damage can be a good idea.

  5. Supports aren't just babysitters for the adc they should support the whole team. If your playing support and you get ahead in lane, your adc is playing someone really safe like Lucian or Caitlyn, you can't really do anything bot because your adc is messing up and they have a good lead, or even if mid looks like an easy gank you should roam.

  6. As a support in solo queue, getting mobility boots before sightstone is generally a good idea unless you can't wards and a few pots when you back to base or your fighting a lot so you need the extra health. ex. If you base with 915 gold or close to that buy mobility boots, a ward, and pots. ex. If you base with anything less than 880 gold you should probably just get a sightstone and some pots.

  7. Also getting mobis/sightstone before upgrading your support item is usually better but if you back with something like 700 gold just upgrade your support item, and get some wards and pots.

  8. Everyone should try and buy pink wards especially since they last until they are destroyed.

  9. If your playing in a lane that has the tribush on your side of the lane you should pink it so not only can your jungler gank because there aren't any wards there but also so you can see if their junglers coming. If your losing lane this isn't a very good idea though because they will just destroy it for a free 30 gold that you spent 100 gold for.

Sorry for the wall of text guys:)

Actually I have one more:

  1. If you are invading or getting invaded get your cc ability first because it probably doesn't do that much less damage than your damage ability and having cc for level one is really good especially if it's something with aoe.

Just give quick cast a chance, it's a bit scary at first but it will quickly make you feel far more dynamic,

  1. talk to your team, chances are if your nice and want to help out they will listen.

  2. off the wall plan don't have to appear off the wall to your team, make your plans simple and easy to follow and then make the enemy team regret not thinking of it before you. (simple tip, rotate two lanes of your choice to make the enemy team confused and panic)

  3. lastly the meta isn't set in stone, if you know what your doing and have a somewhat general grasp of strategy you can put anyone anywhere, try it once you might be surprised with the results ^_^

  1. Don't chase bard late game if you're a squishy, he's deceptively strong when built as a tank and has collected his chimes.

1: Score is worthless. Things that earn points are generally the wrong thing to do. you are not helping by sitting your ass on Windmill while the rest of us die 4v5.

2: Stay out of the lanes. Move through the jungle without facechecking, keeping track of the enemy location, and remaining hidden in fog as much as possible. Only bot should be visible to the enemy team.

3: Windmill is not everything. Stop facemashing into it. Locate the enemy, and pick a point where you can effectively strike, whether it is a backcap, ganking bot, or windmill actually IS unguarded/enemy is dead.

4: Gank bot often. If the enemy wins a fight, it's your best move to be effective. If your enemy loses a fight, it's your best move to add insult to injury and further complicate their respawn. It's almost always a good move.

5: Don't revive during the first windmill fight just because you can. Only revive if you can expect to turn it around. Otherwise, save it for a time when you can use it for a clutch play.

6: Buy vision against Teemo. item 3290 item 3185 item 3187. LB/sweeper are also great against Akali, Talon, Kha'zix, basically anyone that relies on stealth to avoid being ground into a fine paste while their cooldowns reset. Dust 'em and grind away.

  1. Don't be a DOUCHE. a. Don't flame people for mistakes. b. Recognize your team mates when they do good. c. Don't BLAME YOUR TEAM MATES WHEN YOU AREN'T PERFECT.

As a jungler, don't be afraid to gank pre-6.

My one league tip for the day. Dont be a jerk. Raging at someone for dying is hardly going to encourage them not to die again, its not gonna help you win, its not going to make them play better so stfu. Like everyone says, if you dont have something nice to say keep your mouth shut

  1. Udyr, upon activating his Q, Tiger Stance, will apply a powerful AD-scaling Damage-over-Time on his next basic attack. So, when a Tiger Udyr kills you after you think you escaped....that's usually how. :)

  2. Poppy's Q does base damage, plus hybrid scaling, plus 8% of the target's maximum health. That is a lot; tanks, beware, that yordle is deceptively strong.

  3. The support should be warding. So should you.

  1. Do not chase SInged
  2. Stay behind your minions
NorthernDruid5/19/2015, 11:50:56 PM1 votes

When in an engagement early game with multiple enemies in it (targeted for bot lane, but goes for other situations too I guess).

Don't chase the farthest target, attack the one closest to your own tower.

More importantly, attack the enemy you can both focus down.

There's often a clear overlap, and if one of you tries chasing down an almost low enough target instead of focusing the one that you both can whack on, chances are it's gonna be a kill (or a double) for the enemy team.

For the love of all that is holy, upgrade your trinket. Your support will thank you, and you will have much better vision.

It's only 250g to upgrade, and all the upgrades are great.
