Can we acknowledge that they have been moving in the right direction in some areas?

You guys wonder why they never engage in the boards at all. So, I want to take a second to bring up some of the things they’ve done right. I don’t want them to revert these changes because they haven’t received any positive feedback on them. While the game might have some problems, I’d argue Season 9 is a step in the right direction compared to 7 and 8.

  1. They made towers stronger early game. They feel like they are in a good spot
  2. Getting an inhibitor doesn’t mean auto winning the game anymore because you couldn’t leave your base
  3. Baron is not paper, and it’s actually possible to contest it with the inhibitor/minion wave changes
  4. Baron and Elder buffs aren’t brokenly overpowered
  5. Longer games overall. My games have been in the ~35 minute range. This is a huge deal. I also feel like comebacks are actually possible now with the aforementioned changes.

Sure, the game has problems cough Vayne and Riven , but the big game health changes have been in the right direction. I like this season MUCH more than Season 7 and 8

Well, the thing about forums is that they suffer from negativity bias, because those who have positive experiences with the game are generally too busy playing the game to post on here. This is normal and I've seen it in the forums for almost every online game I've ever played.

The issue is in June/August they are going to start deliberately making changes nobody asked for that strictly ruin the game like for example buffing pyke's Q down to 50 mana cost with a lvl cooldown of 9 seconds because "hey worlds is close let's slowly edge the game so only 'hype' champions are picked for worlds".

which btw, has happened in literally every past season for the last 5 seasons.

Nah i'm too busy waiting for them to fuck up something else that will make the game feel awful again.

They do good, but some of the bad they do is so obviously bad for the game, and some is just plain stupid. Have you read the Aatrox changes? And you know all the feedback and statistics they get from the PBE will be ignored, because it almost always does.

Riot: Lets give Nasus reduced CD on his Q q while ulting Players: Don't put it live it's too strong Riot: puts it in live and Nasus becomes op Players: Dafuq man

Riot: Lets give Vayne reduced CD on his Q q while ulting Players: Don't put it live it's too strong Riot: puts it in live and Vayne becomes op Players: Dafuq man

Riot: Lets give Aatrox NO COOLDOWNS while ulting Players: Why do we even bother...

It's hard to see the good when they do stuff this bad this often.

Currently the game feels like shit to me, but it is playable shit. I think I went on a 4 month hiatus or so and only came back part way through URF, now I am actually playing occasional normal games again.

So definitely some significant improvements, but also a lot that could still be improved.

  1. They increased lane winning champs's presence by 1800G. The shields delay the fall only slightly, in exchange for a huge gold advantage for champs who auto win lanes like Jax Heimerdinger Diana Yorick .

  2. Wtf are you smoking? This mechanic still loses you the lane, especially as a mid lane. I can Mid and go 9/0, and still lose lane, because I'm forced to go carry top or bot. I can literally kill mid, and then roam bot while they are ressing, and by the time I do what I'm going to do bot, I've lost a turret mid.

  3. Baron is in its weakest state in the entire game! It's HP has been reduced, it's damage has been reduced, and I have no clue what you mean by minion changes making contesting it possible. Minions can take a lane....

  4. Yeah...... True damage and empowered Siege minions with longer range than 90% of the game's ranged skills with massive tank stats totally isn't OP. You used to be able to clear baron'd waves without stepping Out. Now, if you step out to kill the Siege minion, you will die. I often win games purely by sustaining a 4-5 minute push where I outright abuse minions/poke.

  5. The average game is 2 minutes longer than Season 8, and 1.4 minutes longer than Season 7. It's shorter than Season 6 by 23 seconds. And the only reason is because of the plate killing minigame. After shields are down, the game actually moves more accelerated than it ever has.

Disagree with almost all of your points but I somewhat agree with the premise. It's better than last season but Baron buff is still insanely strong and it's still way too weak to pose any kind of challenge. The tower is stronger early game but once it hits 15 minutes it turns into paper and the rest of the towers aren't buffed.

One of my main problems is turrets still don't do enough damage to targets. It's very easy to dive someone under tower or play with the range and poke them to death. I feel like the attack speed on all towers needs to be buffed and inhib towers need to do way more damage.

  1. They made towers stronger early game. They feel like they are in a good spot FALSE: They now encourage early game snowballing thanks to the plate gold.
  2. Getting an inhibitor doesn’t mean auto winning the game anymore because you couldn’t leave your base FALSE: You still can't leave your base and contest that Baron that is now free because supers shove right through normal waves.
  3. Baron is not paper, and it’s actually possible to contest it with the inhibitor/minion wave changes FALSE: (See previous answer)
  4. Baron and Elder buffs aren’t brokenly overpowered FALSE: While it's possible to lose with both, and I've seen it and beat it, the buffs themselves are stupidly OP in raw numbers. How any given team uses them is out of Riot's control.
  5. Longer games overall. My games have been in the ~35 minute range. This is a huge deal. I also feel like comebacks are actually possible now with the aforementioned changes. SUBJECTIVE: Given the snowbally, early lead wins nature of this game you more often than not have people holding you hostage and prolonging an obvious loss that will take way more effort than is worth expending to try and squeeze out a win.

Sure, the game has problems cough Vayne and Riven , but the big game health changes have been in the right direction. I like this season MUCH more than Season 7 and 8 TRUE: Riot does not nerf the champions that sell skins.

FTFY!

And they nerfed a lot of problematic champions that were a huge problem in season 8

From my POV it's still decided within first 5-10 minutes and then the winning side just takes their long time to snowball and win. Turret plates slow down the early-mid game, but after that it's steep slope as it used to be before.

Comeback chance is not better. It might feel like it is, but you simply cannot come back and push the huge snowball up the hill, when every enemy damage-carry deals damage almost in thousands. It might feel like you can, but it's just it. feel.

Yeah okay but Sylas and Neeko are still unhealthy for the game.

Shit tacos are definitely a step in the right direction compared to shit salad and shit burgers.

Tacos are better, but it's still full of shit.

If people are back to complaining about champions, it means they're actually doing okay stuff.

However. they still need to address resistances and damage. Its nuts
