18 gold per minute is shit. You can easily burn through 2 pink wards=150g in under 30 seconds when fighting the other team's support for control over river. Why do supports have to sacrifice their "end game fantasy" to be ward bots. If I dare take a wave of creeps from one of my laners, I'll get spam ? ?????????? pinged.

Honestly don't understand why it's so hard for you guys to get bot lane right. Isn't it interesting that the duo lanes were more desired than mid lane in URF? Maybe if you boosted support gold income and allowed them to be actual champions with real items, we wouldn't have the auto fill support meme.

A large chunk of that gold gets turned into pinks, because for whatever reason that seems to fall squarely on the supports. And they have very low generation after that initial boost of the new items.

Supports shouldnt be 2nd rate citizens just becuase the map only has 3 lanes, which is the only reason "supports" exist in the first place.

The real issue is that new well dries up very quickly. It sounds nice, but supports are ending the game with far less gold nowadays than before. For whatever reason, that makes people happy; the same people who will cry when they get auto-filled support because the role doesnt have the same agency as their main role.

Its 3 gold per 10 after that; so it is infact 18 gold per minute generation after you finish the stacks. You get an early boost now with the free item but fall off a cliff gold wise after it completes.

Yep gold starvation starts when you complete the quest. The early boost is nice but not needed indeed. There is someone who benefit that gold starvation starts for every support at mid game, and that guy received new lethality items , and he wont be affected as much as others when quest completes. I was about to open a new post about how the new poaching rule for support should be suspended after the laning phase is over.

Some support have decent wave clear and especially in solo queue you need sometimes to push waves or help divert the pressure and that reduced gold just hurts.

Especially if someone goes afk and you have to lane yourself to give your team a fighting chance.

This is actually the reason I stopped playing support regularly. I can certainly control and influence my own game, but trying to influence the other 4 members on my team is like herding cats.

Sorry I've seen them with gold, they carry games. No thanks. Not to mention you support mains seem to just leave out that you are getting a 2000 gold item for free. Literally. For. Free.

Their items are the cheapest in the game, they have the most impact in the game, and it is the best role to duo abuse since support is the most autofilled role in the game and you can use comms with a friend.

Supports are going from the strongest role in the game by quite a bit to being just a normal role again. I'd say give it some time and see how things go because it's like ripping a band-aid off, people are gonna be hurt at the very start, but eventually it'll die down.

And this is why I just delete that item as soon as it's completed. I play aggressive supports, Lux and Morgana, and damn straight I'm gonna carry if I can. If I get stuck with a dumbazz adc who can't even clear the wave let alone make a kill, you think I'm gonna stand back and watch the game go to hell cause of somebody who thinks Vayne's E is a killshot? No, I'm gonna take over, and I'm gonna carry. And whether I get mid-lane items or support items should not matter to you - I can support you with freaking AD items if I choose to, it's the style of game that matters. So, yes, I will delete that item in favor of more gold - I have no reason to keep it.

My thoughts exactly. I can't farm after I complete the quest even if one of my laners didn't spam ping me - I get penalized and get next to no gold anyway.

And if I did get gold, I would still be on a sidelane somewhere when I should be, you know, supporting.

Riot nerfs support gold in preseason.
Supports can't afford pinks anymore.

I just hope now riot moves Lux, Zyra, and Brand back into midlane.

I've never understood why supports always get fucked. Like supports are lv 12-14 while everyone else is 15-18... like ?????????? We get very little gold. Very little xp. We get nothing!

I main mage supports like lux or brand that poke a lot in lane. With the new spellthiefs, you get your first complete item much faster but after that you become more and more useless as the game progresses because the other players are actually allowed to buy more than the two items you will get by 30+ min. And the full support item is garbage, it doesn't even give cdr. Support is dead for me. Time to change my name...

Considering you get 12 gold per minute passively, it sounds like YOU are the problem, not the items. If you are only getting 6 gold per minute from your spellthief/runic shield, you are only proccing once every minute or every 5 minutes, which is extremely bad.

No offense, but you should be getting 18 gold per minutes from your poke/minion kills ALONE to be competent

Its a huge nerf to supports who were active during the game.

Now, as an active support,you make the same amount of gold as an afk support sitting in base LOLOL

Increase the second Quest Limit to 2000 This way the item will upgrade later and you'll get more Gold off of it. Good Enough Oh and Decrease the rate at which Quest 2 Completes so that you dont get the Completed support item till about 25 minutes into the game

Why would they need a new way to earn gold when they're already killing the enemy ADC all the time? Oh I'm sorry, you said support not, "Support but really an assassin/mage".
