How to counter play Heimerdinger

First off, this might just turn out to be a rant against Heimerdinger and how OP he is...I did just play a game against him (not laning against him thank god) and of course, we lost.

And first of all, no, baning does NOT count as a counter. There are too many OP champs in this game to just say that baning is a counter.

-Try to dive him? His turrets murder you -Try to not feed him early game? His turrets out farm your poke and he'll still get fed -Try to gank him? If you are not ganking him at level 1 then good luck because most jungles wait to gank until they are level 6 or at least level 4, and by that time Heim is probably level 6 which is enough to drop a huge ass turret with crap ton of health OR just snipe you with a BAZILLION rockets. -Maybe you can wait until late game? Good luck killing him with his zhoynas up.

So wtf? How can you out play this dude? If someone can point out Heimerdingers weakness (as in weaknesses in his actual kit, not who he is bad against) that would be awesome

this is where long range skill shot champs come in, as well as champs with wide aoe abilities. Ezreal Karma Karthus Malzahar Xerath can completely kill your turrets (ez especially while he was doing smite mid for that short lived nightmare), If you want his weakness as a champion, his power in teamfights is low. besides ulting his w or e, he cant do much since his turrets take to long to set up properly for a teamfight and can be popped by one spell if someone just takes half a second to take care of it.

Remove his turrets immediately. That's the number one counter :)

let him push for a wave or two and just get the minions out of his turret range, early in the game his cd on turret is fairly high. after he starts putting them closer to your turret (like more than the half way mark) just ask for a gank. if yo uor your jungler have any form of CC you can kill him pretty quckly. as your jungler is coming though be sure to kill at least one turret. Heimer is tough but mid game most champs can reliably kill his turrets pretty quickly. when you go in just be prepared to dodge his stun. if you get hit with the stun his turrets are going to half your hp

I find that champions with a lot of AOE damage are really good against him. It also really helps if you actually play Heimerdinger to find his weaknesses. I main Heimer, but I made it a priority to learn how to play against him. You want to get rid of his turrets (as other people have said) first. If you get rid of those first, most people playing Heimerdinger are useless. Personally, I have found these champions to be good against him Morgana Xerath Velkoz Azir Malzahar Syndra is also good, but I haven't really mastered her to the point of completely being able to outplay Heimerdinger. To beat him, I just concentrate on getting rid of his turrets and avoiding his damage. This should be able to keep him from pushing, if he can't push, he's pretty much useless.
