Would gunblade be acceptable on AP markman Kog?

As a form of lifesteal? Currently, I'm using the build

RoA Nashors AS boots/Zephyr if late game Rabadons Liche bane or Zhonyas if being focused Void

The problem is figuring out where to put it...

AP Marksman would need to deal sustained spell damage, but not necessarily sustained magic damage. I don't think Kog'Maw can do that. Cassiopeia does, and maybe Azir, since his soldier's autoattacks are considered spells. Maaaaaaaybe Heimerdinger.

Just build him like a mage and play like Xerath if you're going AP.

Kog'Maw's most consistent and efficient build-path at the current time is something like this: item 1313item 3285 item 3040 item 3116 item 3135 item 3089

With a few notable alternative options based on situation: item 3151 item 3100 item 3157 item 3102

The Distortion Upgrades would be used in tandem with the most aggressive summoner spells Kog'Maw should be taking: summoner 4 summoner 6 In matchups where these are too risky such as against assassins Zed Leblanc or lockdown Annie Leona Ekko Lissandra consider summoner 3 summoner 21 summoner 1.

AP Kog'Maw's ideal playstyle lends itself to a poke-heavy, backline approach, and your build should reflect this playstyle. Items such as item 3146 item 3001 item 3027 are generally preferred by champions that will make use of them in close-ranged/melee scenarios, and Kog'Maw's lack of mobility makes most of these items inefficient or in many cases counter-intuitive to his positioning. You should not find yourself in close-range too often if playing AP Kog correctly.

I would say no. There are items that give you much more ap than gunblade, and because of your insane range you shouldn't need any sort of life regen because you shoudn't be where the enemy team can deal damage to you (If you are that close you are most likely going to die regardless of how much sustain you have).
