I really wish if someone was in my ignore list...

They would stay there and never show up in my games again!

I'm getting sick and tired of people who I ignored, ending up in my games only to remind me as to why I wanted them out of my future games in the first place! It's sickening.

Riot. I ignore people for a reason!

and that could be used to easily game the system.

How so?

You realize the person you're playing with (or even against) is not someone you'd like to play with in future games. You accept the most likely loss then block them to never see them again. Please, elaborate.

So you start ignoring all the bad players or players that played poorly and now you are essentially putting those players all on other teams. It makes it a skewed look of your actual ranked. When you can start picking and choosing who you are playing with it makes it so you are gaming the system. While anyone can say that they would use this system right its not hard to see that bad player and not just toxic players would be put on ignore lists.

Its not a system that can work unless all players are using it in the right way and if you honestly think that then you are disconnected with reality.

Ignoring players who perform badly in a single game would in no way affect your MMR, so you're going to be matched with players of the same skill regardless. If you could ignore enough players that it could in any way affect your chances of victory, your queue times would be through the roof.

Obviously, this wouldn't work in ranked, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't in normals. I don't ignore people, but if those who do find this issue to be a big deal, this sounds like a good fix.

Its not about your MMR its about being able to eliminate players who you don't think add up to your abilities and the fact that once you start "identifying" these players you would have them flood the forums and having a witch hunt. While yea you could have it in normals the OP doesn't say in whether its in normals or all modes. Therefore I must assume that they mean in all modes and not just normals.

You realize ignore list has a limit just like friend list does? Or if it does not, that could easily be created? Even with a limit of 100 that's a drop in the bucket of total player base.

When you only account for low elo thoughs it becomes abusable by higher elos. There isn't a happy medium that would make sense. If its really that big of a problem that you don't want to que with someone from your last match take a second to NOT que up and wait. Let them get into a game and then que up.

how...?

At higher elo's I notice I end up playing the same people all the time. Ignore all the top people and I'll have an easier game. Abusable.

It should be that they only end up being in the opposing team or at least not in the same team/match as you.

And then queues at both ends of the elo spectrum, Dominion, and TT become an hour long.

Moulin Rouge1 votes

I wouldn't mind. I'll take the 1 hour queue if I don't potentially have my points reduced because somehow, the troll I ignored, ended up being in my game 2 days later. It's like...really? I thought I would never see you again. xDD

While I wish this could happen, it is abusive. It would just allow people to ignore all the people they consider "bad" to go on their ignore list and then they can potentially stack their team to be in a better favor. I do wish I wouldn't have to play with people on my ignore list, I accept it. It makes it so I just don't have to hear them talk, as that is the reason why I ignore them in the first place. The only thing I don't like is that I feel I mute some people and then for some reason I see their chat, which bothers me, but that's a different problem.

You would have to ignore a phenomenal number of players to eliminate everyone you could consider bad at the game. This game has a player base of tens of millions, and each individual game has up to 10 players including yourself. Assuming that you never queued with the same player twice, it would take over 1 million games to evaluate 10 million players. Even assuming every single one of those games was a surrender at 20, you would have to be playing League of Legends for over 40 years to evaluate half of the player base.

The only place this could really be abused would be the very top ranked players.

Uhhh... Okay... so your argument is that you are never going to queue with the same player twice. So what is the point of ignoring people and not having them be on your team ever again? The likelihood of it happening is already astronomically low.

Either way, if you are good enough and you feel a player is bad enough, wouldn't that mean that soon enough you will move out of that elo and never see that bad player again? If the player is so bad but you keep getting teamed with them, maybe it's the game trying to tell you something. (you aren't any better than the guy you're trying to avoid)

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

It's not about the player's skill, it's about not being queued with a specific jackass again because you don't like them, whether or not they're a good player.

And as for 'astronomically low' chances of running into a player from a past queue, I've been running into a lot of deja vu encounters, especially with teamed queues of players with thematic names.

NoMonku1 votes

I'm speaking of it from my ARAM experiences. I often run into a LOT of people, around 20ish or so that I continually run into every now and then. I'm not saying it would be bad if this happened, I'm just saying that it has possibility for abuse. And yes, the abuse would be at places where there isn't a high player base or at least a large traffic of players.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

So limit it to non-Ranked. Problem solved; now, when you play the modes designed for fun instead of the two queues designed for glory, you don't have to deal with irritating players, and it's impossible for you to ignore every single player supposedly worse than yourself.

yeah 6+ years. Still no "Unprefer" "avoid player" etc list.

MalaceX1 votes

I agree with this suggestion and I have found it to be very confusing myself. If a player chooses not to communicate with the team and prefers to feed, you should have the option to limit your interaction with them. It is known fact that the Tribunal does VERY LITTLE to reduce the amount of trolls in this game. Many also understand this is nearly an impossible task considering they can simply create a new account with a horrible username. Many times, you can tell a troll by their in-game name. It never fails.

I don't believe there are that many players on your server, its closer to 850k, and depending on your ELO you are only going to be matched against a fraction of that.

You should't get to pick your opponents in a Ranked que. That's why certain games on XBL and PSN have issues with cheating on the leaderboards. If you know you are going to be against someone with greater skill you just decline the match before it starts. The only way to stop it was to make the games hide the user name during the match-up que.
