How does one survive Lux?

Alright, I don't know if I'm the only one, but I have quite a few "personal counters", champions against whom I never seem to be able to win lane and I always end up feeding ten kills. So Lux. What can I do against her E? Why does everyone say that she's weak? What's her weakness?

Her weaknesses are the same as ever. Mobility kills her.

LOL sure sure.... this has nothing to do with mobility and why is EVERYONE forgetting her shield ¿? O.o lux hits 1 e or q followed up by an ''almost not dodge able'' ult you're done...... with this buff shes 2x the goddess its like doombots all over again :( you think its normal that a champion can pressure so massively? dodge 24/7 DDL = dance dance legend¿? finished by a disco beam . on top of that she decides when it detonates and almost all of her skills cover the entire lane .o.

ps dodging one's skillshots does not mean you ''counter'', you just simply avoid damage.... a counter is an anticipation and to ''STRIKE BACK'' so unless lux gets damage after you dodge, dodging only stalls, for the almost inevitable O.O she trades her mobility for a shield..... she doesn't need mobility. its not her weakness -.- almost every mage his/her weakness is the fact they are skill dependent which means their weakness is mana and cooldown..... so knowing their minimum cooldown and keeping an eye on skill cost/mana will make you be able to survive lux, but still its not easy.

Early levels, Lux's harass is only mana efficient for her if she's able to proc her passive on you. The E, you'll probably get hit by most of them, its good if you can dodge a few. But when she does hit you with one, don't let her follow up with an auto.

Once she gets a mana item going that inefficiency won't matter anymore. You'll need to find a way to close the gap and kill her without her bursting you. This depends on champion, but it often comes down to dodging her Q. Alternatively, you can fake a roam and hide in a bush and see if Lux follows. Lux herself isn't a particularly good roamer so many mids have that advantage.

Late game, if she lands her Q she'll land her R, and it does a lot of damage. Diving her can be dangerous because she can have Zhonya's. On the bright side, her basic spells have pretty long cooldowns, and her DPS in a direct fight is fairly low. She's got good poke, so it really comes down to initiating quickly and having someone with the mobility to chase her down.

tbh it's probably just you getting inside your own head.

Same thing happens to me whenever I play against Rengar Top or Viktor Mid. I think it's because they were broken on Release/Rework (at which point they would have given me nightmares a few times laning against them) so I'd say I tend to play more Passive than I should and don't punish them enough.

You can predict when she wants to E. If she's using it to push/farm the wave, she'll wait for you to come up to farm and cast it at the backline of minions (to hit you at the same time). You can mostly avoid it if you farm from the side rather than center of the lane. This forces her to choose to use E for harass or waveclear, and the mana cost will hurt her.

If she uses Q to farm, or misses it completely, she has basically no retaliation if you just walk up to trade with her. You have to abuse the long cooldowns and high mana costs of her spells.

Early boots will help you dodge, starting Flask+pots makes Lux rage because you will stay high health after she used all her mana to poke you.

If you let Lux push you to turret, ganks become a lot easier.

Lux main here. Assassins are stupidly annoying for her. Zed has always been a good choice b/c of his shadows, and yasuo b/c of his windwalls. those 2 kill her so hard.

It's been a while since I've played her, but if I recall, her biggest weakness is just after casting Light Binding. If she misses you, she leaves herself open to gap closers and potshots. Although, at later levels she just becomes outright annoying with a Final Spark every minute and slowspells, bush checks, and Light Binding casts every which way and where. Trying to keep her aim off with her Light Binding remains top priority, though.

Lux did NOT need to be buffed. She absolutely did NOT need a buff, and even in last year's World-Tournament, she was factually both picked & banned. Once more Lux did NOT need those buffs & Riot is obviously full of trolls for buffing her.

I like to take tier2 boots before anything against her, they make dodging her Light Bindings quite a bit easier. I try to position myself away from minions so she has to choose between pushing the wave and harassing me.

I don't have much experience against her though, I don't play mid very often.

Lux weakness is easy.

First her spells are costly and she starts with a really poor mana pool, so she has to make every spell count before she ran out of mana. Her mana pool is 334 at level one and her spells cost 50/60/70 respectively so you really can only do 2 full rotation before going oom. Dodge the first 2 rotation and she will be open for free harrass, poke and pretty much everything you want.

The first weakness can be somewhat solved by item 3070 item 3028 , now you will be able to use your spells more freely but still some serious mana management come into play. Anyway assuming you are against a decent Lux that just won't spam her spells, she will have either one of those items for sure after the first recall. Most luc will zone you our with her E, most mids are ranged so just farm outside of the Aoe, if you are melee you will have to give a few CS for an opportunity or out sustain the harass. Anyway, her big weakness after her low mana is her binding, the cost is not so big but the Cooldown is considerably high at early levels (15 sec) so if by any chance she misses she is open to any kind of trading. She can still damage you with her E+passive for a fair trade but she won't be able to 100-0 you without a chance to retaliate.

Assassins tend to do well against lux since once she misses her bind she can be all in and she won't be able to run away as her slow is meh and she has no blinks

Zed. :D Zed is life here. Farming may be a tad difficult in the beginning, but poke her down with your weqwaa combo, then once you hit 6, ult her and she goes splat. :D

Lux is the squishiest champion in the game at level one, she's highly immobile, and her mana costs are really harsh early game. She also lacks waveclear, since her e can't kill the caster minions in one shot unless she's fed. To counter her, pick a mobile assasin, (also fiora mid works well since you just parry her q then jump on her with your q), or a tanky champ like galio or cho gath. You can dive her if she ever leaves tower range or just push the wave and roam if she's playing safe. If you catch her by surprise while she's following your roam it's a free kill. Late game it becomes harder since lux is great at sieges/defending sieges and at teamfighting if her front line protects her. You can coutner this by teamfighting in open spaces and flanking her. Lux can't handle enemy's coming at her from 2 different directions since her abilities are all line skillshots even her shield. (her e has an aoe but she can only hit people from opposite direcitons by casting it directly on top of herself).

All of these people recommending you to pick Assassins into Lux are really recommending you pick Zed into Lux.

Zed beats Lux, this is the champ to counter Lux with.

A well played Diana will beat Lux, the average Diana will lose this lane.

Lux beats these champions Akali Katarina Talon Fizz Kassadin, when she does not win these lanes she miss played or there was jungle intervention.

Edit: In the laning phase Lux is not countered by mobility, she counters mobility. Later in the game is where mobility begins to counter Lux (mainly due to her having to leave the safety of the towers).
