Early game? Survive. Don't try to beat him, just stay alive. He is a lane bully, but like most lane bullies falls away hard unless very well fed. Stay under turret and farm minions until mid game. Unless you died several times in the early game you can kill him in the mid game. Also, many Darius players try to zone you out of lane. When he does, he sets himself up perfectly for a gank.

DrMundo funny that he is listed as weak vs Darius

That FACT is health counters true damage, and who loves health more than Mundo?

You play passive until you finish your first item. Probably item 3068.

Darius NEEDS to snowball. Mundo is one of the best champions in the game at keeping players from snowballing.

He wrecks Mundo early of course but no Mundo plays aggro in the early game so it's just business as usual.

Easy lane. Easy life.

Darius is hard to beat in lane, I mained him last season. Hardest matchups I would say are Kayle, Tryndamere, Sion, Teemo, Ryze, and Quinn. Aside from those champions everything else is cake. Champions that have a high ranged burst potential do well again Darius. Just don't let his passive go over 3 stacks at any given time and you're fine. Remember he gets a movement speed boost for every bleeding champ, so starting boots isn't the worst idea against him.

The tough part about laning against a Darius is that how well he does will ultimately depend more on your jungler than you. If you're jungler isn't camping the lane there is very little you'll be able to do to prevent Darius from farming and being a fed pain in the late game as well as early. You will however be the one your team blames for him being fed by either you or the lane so really not much you can do without regular jungler intervention.

he has a dominant early game you need to play safe he falls off later in the game

From experience, it really depends on what champion you use.

I main Nasus and Renekton so I'm familiar with both "extreme" match-ups.

Darius is a hard counter to Nasus. Nasus has to avoid getting hit at all costs. Even if it means missing a wave. Farm under tower, getting a caster minion is not worth losing half your health, max E to reset the wave, etc. Essentially, play super passive, farm well, tell your jungle when to gank/not gank (I've lost a couple of games just because my jungler underestimated Darius' damage and died, pretty much ruining my lane), and don't get killed. You're not looking to trade at all. That's for the late game. >:)

Renekton, however, is a skill matchup, imo. They are both lane bullies. They both do a lot of damage early. The whole matchup is about trading when spells are on cooldown and who all-ins at the best times. I like building item 1011 on Renekton ASAP, since it mitigates most of Darius' ult damage. If you're ahead/behind, the rest of the build is up to you. Whatever you feel the most comfortable with.

So yeah, it really depends on what champion you're picking against Darius. If you're playing a melee champ, then you're probably having a bad time depending on who you're playing, since Darius does pretty well against most melee champs. However, most ranged champs can harass and kite Darius pretty well.

Hope this helps!
