The rockets gives jinx extra range, aoe and 10% more dmg which in my eyes compensate for the masteries in the offense tree and the little offset of buying a muramana instead of a more popular starting item. (you also get a pretty cheap bandit and inspiration mastery which are both great on adc)
I also tried with kog (ult each 5 seconds sustainably) and I have the feeling more adc could try this path.

Trash MammaI1 votesBuilding tear on just about any adc early on just makes you a lane bully. You'll fall off hard compared to the other adc if they build the normal path. Take Varus for example. If I got Tear first i'd be spamming my Q and E like crazy it'll be annoying but I won't outdamage someone in a fight who has BF sword
iluvalar1 votesWell. that's the 4rth item. It just work in the late game then. My setup allows for rockets during the laning phase.
Guys, I know that building manamune first is a bit weaker. My point here is that imo the perfect synergy between manamune and the meditation mastery. Might just as well outweight the negative effects of picking those instead of the more mainstream choice.

iluvalar1 votesAlthough I'm a sucker for off meta stuff, generally anything less than 21 points in offense is bad for an ADC.
Well it's kinda what I want to say. I miss, 5% AS , 2% bonus attack and 5% dmg (at best) and a bit of critical strike from infinity edge.
But I gain a steady 10% dmg, extra range and aoe from the rockets and access to pickpocket and inspiration mastery.
So at the end of the day, the trade don't really seem OP, but at the very least viable.
