How to actually counter Riven

  1. Pick Garen Darius Renekton Pantheon Olaf Jax Chogath Shyvana Tryndamere
  2. Learn to freeze lane, Losing that 6 minions is better than losing your life, stay in experience range. If you successfully freeze the lane or lane gets pushed to your turret ask jungler to gank. Riven is mobile but she can be ganked as her abilities have medium cooldown early game.
  3. Don't dive Riven, EVER. Even if she has 1 HP do not dive her. I can't count how many times I have killed somebody (as riven) that dived me on low hp.
  4. Consider buying early armor against her, that 300 cloth armor might be difference between life and death for you.
  5. Don't trust my first advice if you don't know how to play those champions. Can't count how many times my mid lane Kayle has fed enemy zed because he saw that Kayle was Zed's #1 counter on lolcounter.com
  6. Consider switching lanes with ADC/Supp.
  7. Mute everybody.

  2. Delete Riven's file

Those champions are strong vs riven if she tries to trade with them, but with 4 dashes and a shield she can just play safe and be a god lategame. I never lost vs riven as garen and renekton (i dont play the other), but that's because i play vs noobs that think they can 1vs1 anyone as riven, vs skilled players it's probably harder, i dunno. But i'm just a bronze player, so feel free to call me noob, etc etc..

Riven will destroy some of those champions like Cho or Tryndamere at level 2. That's when laning with her is the scariest - her early damage. Once you hit 6 as any champ things become easier. The biggest way to deal with early Riven is to disable her or overpower her when she comes to you

Best way to beat a Riven is to get her to attack you when you have a good sound of minions to support you at early level. Early level minions deal enough damage to force the trade in your favor.

Just play safe, most riven players won't think twice about fixing early into a minion wave so it won't take long for them to make the mistake.
