Vel'koz completely dominates Thresh

Straight up eat the hooks, and then combo the enemy ADC. Once Thresh has blown his whole combo he is straight up useless.

I could see this working, but probably a bad idea to 'eat the hook' - Thresh likes to be played into aggressive or kill lane ADC's (Draven, Miss fortune, Lucian...) so they will burst you down unless you're quite tanky

I think a better way to word it would be 'Dodge his hook so he can't do anything but get too close to flay, and proceed to bombard the enemy adc'

+1 nonetheless, I don't really play this matchup but I do play a ton of thresh and I admit there were some pretty rough games vs my creator TenTacular

I think it depends on how the other ADC is positioned. If they're in a position where they won't be able to do much then eat one and see how Thresh treats is. If he goes in then you can probably bait him easily for the rest of the game. Honestly though you should be punishing Thresh in the early game as he tends to start E, and he is extremly easy to harass.

He only starts E if he has an ADC who can't do anything about a level 1 pull. If he is laning with an ADC like Lucian or Draven or MF who are aggressive/kill lane ADCs that Vayne Hentai mentioned, then they're gonna do some serious damage to whoever he pulls level 1 and his ADC will probably be looking for that level 1 pull. If not Thresh gets his combo at level 2 (the same time Leona does) and it doesn't matter that he starts E for the first 9 minions of lane because that's like 30 seconds. I don't think he's gonna try to be up in your face with his E in the first 30 seconds of laning.
