If you didn't plan to bring back Solo Queue you should have said it months ago

I'm not even that mad about Solo Queue being scrapped. I have faith in Riot that they'll eventually get DQ close to balanced. What I'm mad about is how they've played us for months. It pisses me off that you guys constantly say "We're working on it" which essentially means "It's never coming". If you want to shit on our plate at least do it with a straight when you make the decision.

Edit: Most of you seem to be forgetting this post where they had everything planned out.

Funny how it went from

We need to work out a few implementation details

to

we've made the decision to not bring back solo queue.

Here are some things Rioters have said about Solo Queue

Riot ScuttleChris said this 2 months ago

I believe this is where the disconnect is.

We aren't pro or anti soloqueue. Anything is on the table to fix the current state of the queues, including bringing back soloqueue.

We are anti long queue times at diamond and above, we are anti unfair match making which seems to be happening when full premades run into solo players again at diamond and above.

We are pro team play, and pro being able to play with your friends (whether you have one friend, two, or three).

I don't want to see us be dogmatic about dynamic queue either - I'm in favor of any solution that helps all these things happen.

RiotTuxedo said this a year ago on what he though about what ranked meant

Ranked, in my humble opinion, is more about a long term measurement of your own personal growth and knowledge about the game. When you stop thinking about winning individual games and rather improving your gameplay for the long term you'll realize it's in your best interest to focus on yourself individually and what you can do better rather than what your teammates are doing wrong.

Time and time again I've heard pro players say you can't control what teammates you get matched with or how well they play, the only thing you can control is how well you play personally. Becoming a high ranked player is about getting better individually to a point where you consistent play well.

It's nonsense. Clumping every queue configuration together makes no sense for ranked ladder since solo to 5-man are different skills and experiences (plus possible voice chat/pre-game advantages). No matter how hard you try to adjust it, it's inherently a broken system if you take competitive play seriously. There is simply no other way around it. That's the problem for me. It's not just unfair matchmaking, it's that it lacks validity as a ranking system since it doesn't force consistency in the experience despite putting everything on a single ladder.

They could at least show a solo ranking separately though even if it's all DQ still.

Solo was scrapped from day one of the season.

This was all damage control.

The problem is that there are fundamental pain points Riot won't be able to fix with all the fudge factors in the world.

DQ gives players the same MMR when they're queued with their usual premade as when they decide to play a game solo - spoiler alert, the MMR is going to be wrong in one of those cases.

They kinda did. They said that Dynamic queue is priority and that there is very small chance for solo queue.

Nono, they wouldn't just outright say something so controversial and something that will radically change they game. They got to play the long game of beating around the bush, remaining quiet, ignoring the issue altogether until the general consensus is "omg stfu noone cares anymore" and eventually they can outright say "Yeah, not happening" and the majority of people will have moved on to other things

They stated that this was a mistake. People make mistakes, companies make mistakes, you make mistakes. Crying now does no good, they have come out with their official decision on the matter and they have valid reasoning behind this.

If you think you can do better you need to provide solutions, not complaints.

SoloQ was never going to happen. Splitting ranked ques would be a horrible idea, and realistically destroy league match making.

And you shouldn't have said that you WERE going to bring Solo Q back in the dynamic que launch thread after a few weeks as a secondary ranked que.

Now to see the drop in solo players.

They did plan on bringing it back but over the course of time that possibility became less feasible. I hope you never have a hard job that requires adaptation to the situation and change like the U.S Military.

If you where told the enemy was going to attack from the south but they attacked from north would you refuse to return fire and site the grounds of your refusal being the radio operators bad information ? I bet you would. Things change bro get used to it.
