If i exha say a lux or a jinx or an ezreal, as they are ulting does the damage still get reduced if you exha during cast animation or do you have to do it before?

I don't know off the top of my head for sure, But I believe so, because the damage is being done AFTER the exhaust, the damage is not done during the channel. I would recommend going into a custom and testing it with a friend

I would guess that it would reduce the damage if applied before the damage is dealt, but I actually do not know. You might set up a custom game with a friend and try it out. I'd love to hear your results!

While this doesn't answer your question, and I'm sorry that I don't have one for you, marginally on/off topic I'd like to point out: In each one of those instances Flash would be better. All 3 have a singular lined type of skill shot, and while interesting to know about the damage mitigation, in the mean time unless you were exhausting them to save an ally, or try to, for yourself simply Flashing out of position to avoid the ult completely is better.

Flash out of ult during cast animation, then exhaust the caster to help your ally under CC. Now that info would come in handy.

Damage is applied on connection. Exhaust decreases the damage. Same and applies with any buffs such as a Janna shield. If say a jinx rocket was mid air, shielding her would still add damage.
