How to build: A zero crit Marksman?

This is something I was testing out just for the lolz and was surprised it actually worked.

I picked up Miss Fortune as an Adc when the event started and kinda liked how she plays (although she really could get an updated VO and some tiny changes: Switch her passives, Q Targeting, etc...). So I noticed she has item 3071 in her recommended items and that's what got me thinking. Now I have ALL that extra HP and it gives me... nothing? Sure, the active of the item combined with the ult is overkill in AD heavy teams, but those 400 HP felt kind like a wasted stat.

Originally in my fist game I was going for a Trinity, so I had the item 3057 already when I build the black cleaver. Not exactly sure what I was doing I simply upgraded that one into a item 3025 . And that was perfect. Not a single tank or buiser could even come CLOSE to me, my passive speed and the Iceborn procs on every Q let me kite them forever. Oh, that, and the AOE slow I have anyways. The bonus speed from the black cleaver was surely halping too I guess...

So the completed build was something like this :

Core:

item 3071 item 3006 item 3072 item 3025

You build them all at the same time, so you have normal boots, phage, BF, lifesteal and a sheen, then you start completing them starting with either boots or the Bloodthrister.

Then you need MR, so you pick: item 3156 or item 3139 , depending on the enemy and their cc.

Leaves you one free slot for variation. I personally recommend stuffing a item 3153 or a item 3508 , but that's up to personal playstyle. (Essence reaver is nice if you want 40% cdr with this build without runes or masteries)

"BUT WITHOUT CRIT YOU DEAL NO DAMAGE". Wrong. This is because of multiple reasons: First: while not critting you have a higher base AD for more sustained - and RELIABLE - damage. Second: MF's passive, impure shots, scales with AD, so you got that part covered anyways. Third: MASSIVE CDR: More abilities: more damage. Fourth: You cannot crit towers Fifth: Attack speed is not an issue for your W will be almost up permanently.

And the most important thing: Survivability. You don't have to unload all the damage at once. You just gotta be alive at the end of the fight and your enemy dead. That's all. The damage you have will be enough for this while you will also be extremly hard to kill compared to the usual glasscanon adc.

And why a Bloodthrister first? THE SHIELD PREVENTS YOUR PASSIVE FROM TURNING OFF. This is EXTREMLY important and a reason to finish it first. You passive is no longer broken by minions or low damage, making it even harder for the enemy to catch you.

I don't think that there are many marksmen who could pull off a build like that. Ezreal has his blue-build which can be also played crit free if I remember correctly and maybe Corki could pull it off, but I'm not sure.

So, what do you guys think?

EDIT: meant VO, not VU early in the post, sry

I've actually noticed something similar when jungling as Tryndamere. I seem to be able to more consistently teamfight and help out building items like item 3022 and item 3071 instead of item 3031, which feels really weird since he has such high innate chance and it seems like building for that would help.

Maybe it's just something that Miss Fortune can do that other marksmen can't because of her reliance on spells, maybe building critless is actually a smart playstyle (at least in some situations). Try playing more games with this and seeing what happens.

If interested in this and willing to risk it I would recommend playing around with Twitch to experiment. With the stat boost and range boost on his ultimate, he has the longest range of any marksman in the game in addition to each auto attack piercing through multiple targets applying on hit effects to each one however it would still require a item 3142 to ensure that he gets the maximum burst possible out of his ultimate but couple that with item 3071 , item 3022 item 3072 item 3153 and a defensive item for the scenario and that would be a fairly scary sewer rat.

a lot of ad-carries can work well with ad-caster builds, some even with bruiser-builds...it´s pure ficton that the absurd power of crit is necessary to make them viable/stop tanks from being overbearing.

I'd probably finish off with a Last whisper so that tanks have zero hope of combatting my damage (between up to 30% shred from BC and 35% pen from LW, only someone with over 400 armor can survive your DPS, at which point impure shots hurts too much anyway).

MF's a weird champion, and I'm not surprised someone out there who thought to experiment with her found success with an unorthodox build for an unorthodox ADC.

P.S. Throw in a Furor enchantment and you could probably kite indefinitely.
