Is it better to be a master at one champion, or semi-decent at every champion?

I have no main, and I just pick whatever I fill or feel like playing. I probably have no more than 20 games on any singular champion. If there's a way to check this, it would be awesome and interesting to see.

What I'm asking for is advice. What should I do? Also, if there's one champion in each role that help you learn that role best, then hearing what those champions are would be nice. I'm guessing the 450 champions of each role but I'm not too sure.

It is far more fun to be semi-decent at all champion.

For climbing, main one. Once you are higher up, semi decent at every champion, but you won't be, you just won't, be good at about 2 to 3 in each role, or at least 4 out of the five and you are golden.

Try being best with a champ in each lane, EX. top lane riven, mid viktor, bot adc vayne. That way you can be flexible with your role select.

Personal I like mastering one thing that is flexible. However I think an interesting concept is to learn how to play a particular position you like really well. I heard faker said every mid lane should learn TF and ryze bc they teach map awareness/ganking and pushing buttons in the correct order repectively, and those are skills needed no mater what. I'd guess jungle could be like lee sin, yi, and nunu bc they teach ganking, farming, and counter jungle/objective control respectively. Plus they serve different roles in team fights. I'm sure there are similar things/styles to learn for each lane. For top I'd say like riven/garen/rengar/panth to learn lane bully strat and like nasus/swain/poppy/irelia to learn weak early champ with strong scaling for late game.

I think it's best to master a lane, because think about it when you pick champs you call out lanes, you dont call out champs, you also want to learn the item builds so you can at least in theory know what to get for each role, like for AP, AD, support, tank, etc.
