Tips from Irelia/Riven mains?
I currently main Irelia top,previously Pantheon and im hoping of adding Riven to that "List". Anyone got some protips for playing Irelia or Riven?

I play a lot of Irelia at the plat 5 level.
In my experience, Irelia power curve goes like this: Average level 1 (starting E) Weak level 2,3 Strong level 4,6,8 (after 2 points in W) Very strong level 5,7,9 (Maxing W)
Mid Game = Very Strong
Late Game = Average, but strong duelist
Build = usually start flask or dorans blade (depending on lane match-up)
Rush Trinity force, sometimes after boots and/or 1-2 dorans blades (depending on how lane is going / how much gold you shop with. DO NOT build components of sheen, they are very week - only buy this item if you can build the whole thing at once)
Team fight focus = full tanky after trinity force, almost always tabi/mercs for boots
Split push focus = POSSIBLE botrk/zephyr after trinity, then tank.... possible zerker greaves fro boots
Add clickhead. He is my top lane for my team and is experienced with both.
best tip ever! if you see a Quinn on the enemy team, pick a different champ
If you see me against you top lane and I have gnar, pick another champ :-)
One tip that some probably don't know...LAST HIT WITH YOUR Q. Q to enemy champs and use your E and then AA.
dont get brk on irelia its a noob trap

Never tried Irelia, but i main Riven on both top and Mid. She is a curveball and a lane bully , but once you know her combos you can OWN the SR.
My Quick-Tips on Riven. Is to know her weaknesses and use the Valor (her E) to dodge CCs and ults. Start by leveling her Q first and E second in most cases. you can level her E first against some of the more stronger early game champs (Renekton or Pantheon). Her W (KI BURST) is a life saver and kill grabber so remember it. Also time your auto attacks between her ability's because of her passive which gives massive damage boosts after using an ability.
There is loads more that the guide explains so I highly recommend reading it through and doing a few bot games to get her combo to where you can do them without thinking. Enjoy ganking and lane bullying!!! I know i have. :)

Not exactly an irelia main but I played her a lot when zephyr was more popular on her but anyway this is some stuff I learned in my time of playing her.
First of all farming is key to playing a good Irelia if you can manage not falling behind during lvls 1-8 your ability to shift the lane into your favor vastly improves. Her first main power spike is the level you max w at, your second major power spike occurs once you finish trinity. These are the points in the game where you can start snowballing normally gaining an advantage as soon as you max w. Around mid game is when you can start roaming because this means you have a few items finished and your a pretty huge threat. This is when you should look to make plays because you should be much stronger than most other champs at the time. Late game you can split if you've got tele, or you can focus on diving the back line or peeling your adc.
Just some reminders your e is a big part of dueling the enemy make sure you have good usage for example: vs another irelia you would stun her after she uses w so as to negate a lot of true dmg, you should be careful to avoid this kind of counter play. Second ignite and your ult is very strong at 6, if you can Hit 6 before your enemy try to use this to your advantage. Third use your q and ult to injure minions in order to chase or juke the enemy. Lastly your q applies on hit, use it near the end of your w duration for extra burst.
Riven Quick Tips: -Ad and CDR items are the best items for riven. -AA after the use every each skill to maximize passive, this includes all Qs. -Use E for animation cancelling, best use of this is EW and ER, EQ is mostly used if you need to get off extra dmg if your scared of dying before getting it off. -Hydra is best used right before W to reduce time required to cast them. -Try to learn the fast combo, don't remember how to do it but you can find it on youtube. -Rivens early game has one of the best all ins at lvls 2-3. -Build full dmg until your unable to kill at least one person before dying, as a melee ad caster you need to be very close to the enemy during team fights, most of the time GA fits your needs just fine. -If losing lane or just looking to harass Q twice then it the enemy with the last Q+AA+W+AA then E anyway for favourable trades. This is a good trick if vs renekton who's shoving you to tower, be careful he can chase you with double E.

I would strongly suggest checking out Wingsofdeath's stream on twitch.tv, he plays a lot of Riven and Irelia, and his commentary is always very informative. Also, he doesn't play a lot of copyrighted music so a big part of his vods are not muted, if you wish to check them out.
Tips from a former irelia main Teleport! its your biggest friend with irelia. Do not use it to get back to lane! Use for ganks on bot lane. I know this is a really good idea no matter which top you play but teleporting bot as irelia when the enemy is pushed in your bottom lane can net you those kills you need to snowball, especially if you are in an unfavorable match up and your team will be much better off.
How does anyone need tips for Riven? that champ is brain dead easy. Just smash your head against your keyboard and collect kills. Is is not as though you will run out of mana.
Play bot games 1v5 against intermediate, champions with silences/stuns etc. until you can consistently do the combos pretty quickly and are comfortable with it, and wall jumps.
then just smash people in lane with superior mechanics and you'll quickly learn what matchups are hard, why they are hard, and what makes them easier to deal with. Solid mechanics makes it easier to tell where you went wrong in other ways.
