so why the fuck was I forced to fight the #1 player 3 times, almost in a row?

???

I was last in the game after getting 1 singular item component in the minion waves, getting unlucky in a few rounds, and getting behind the curve in champ strength (plus I was building for the sorceror comp, which takes a while to get going).

So why was I forced to fight the #1 player THREE TIMES in the span of FIVE games?

edit: I'm aware that who you face is RNG, but it's a rhetorical "why the fuck." It shouldn't be this way. Your chances of getting ahead shouldn't be tied to some dumbfuck matchmaking that you have 0 control over.

Bad luck, but it happens. Weird thing is, sometimes you win...

It's pure RNG without any handicapping.

The same reason youll never complain about NOT fighting him 3 times in a row.

When there is an odd number of players, the game duplicates one of the teams so everyone has an opponent. Its pretty clear to see when you win the match but no damage stuff flies at the opponent.

The issue is when it duplicates the top players and then you fight the real person afterward. It seems like you keep playing the same guy and you are to an extent, but its more annoying than it needs to be.

For the record, just like in a card game, the only lost life that matters is the final points, and in fact in TFT being behind in life is a boon. Facing the person in 1st three times doesn't actually make you any more likely to lose.

That said, I completely agree that it shouldn't be totally random who you face.

OG Autochess had a nifty function where, unless u were the last 2 ppl left, you couldn't fight the same person 2 times in a row. Don't know why they aren't adding it here.
