So how exactly does one deal with or counter a glacial comp?

It seems like once the glacial comps get rolling there’s actually no way to stop them. And if they get a frozen heart as well there’s actually no way to deal with them whatsoever.

My intention isn’t to complain, but to learn if there is a way to deal with a glacial comp. And if not, I wonder when we might see glacial getting toned down?

Its overpowered, needs a nerf.

I hope nothing changes... it is so much fun just watching your whole team get slaughtered while they just stand there

Yes, salty much. Because it feels like you have to always build against glacial because someone is sure to have it, no avoiding it.

You sit there stunned permanently as your team gets melted without doing a single point of damage for the entire round

glac comp in a nut shell is those 2 Ashe Sejuani , i won against them or lost with them by either killing ashe early or silencing/CC/killing sej before her spell cast .

imo they should release an item or change a current item into an anti CC item.

Here, 6 glacial units (maximum bonus) - yet i finished in 5th place.

WIthout 3rd tier upgrades or lucky drops - a comp of assassins can take most units down in 2 - 3 strikes. There's very little time for freezing the essential units - and even you manage to do that you need enough damage to take them down (or some of them will 1 shot you as soon as they unfreeze). The 6 glacial bonus looks nice on paper - but late game this proved to be a weak mix. It's better too have only 2 glacial paired with heavy damage dealers.

Kill the ashe/anni asap via blitz or assassins depending on positioning, and adjust as needed. Theyre likely low on HP because glacial is a late game comp.

Assassins can one shot even the frontline, so you can get lucky a few times and win

Don't know if i'm simply unlucky - but i find Glacial units really hard to upgrades (the droops seem really rare compared to other units - like Vayne or most brawlers and wild units). Sometimes i make it till late game - and my Ashe is still tier 1, while the other units are barley tier 2.

Imo they should change seju ult/spell to the same as ingame. 1 target immediatly frozen solid, others slowed (AS slow for example).. Would still make it hella strong but not as OP as it is now?

6 Glacial basically is better than having you opponent dc from the game. It does not matter what they have or what they do. Permanently taking all of their champion out of play is always gonna be better than anything else you can do. it does not matter how many 3 stars you have, not how good items you have, not what bonuses you have. None of it matters because you have to attack in order to win and 6 glacial permanently disables all attacks.

spreading out, burst damage, and taking out sej and ashe. if you're spread out, fewer people will be hit by stuns and stuff, or at least hopefully SOMEBODY is unstuck and still doing SOMETHING. i feel like i dont really see glacial teams that much, but when i do see them, the only time they are a problem is when im behind.

Beefy Frontline - High DPS backline is what works for me best.

Glacial has massive DMG issues which is why a Cho or your own Seju can tank for ages. Them positioned in a way their Seju/Ashe Ult doesnt reach your DPS Champs and you've got a free win.

(And let's be honest here - outside of a 3 Item Voli - Glacial6 has not single decent Champ outside the ones I mentioned. It's Seju, Ashe + some minions!)

It'd be nice to see some sort of anti cc effect introduced like item 3111 either as an item or a synergy.

It's true that Glacial comp can be quite efficient - tho, TFT is mainly about "Luck for drops - be it items or champions". I've won some games with Glacial in the mix - but i've lost far more. Even more than that - i have 100% loss rate with 6 Glacials (all 6 seem pretty weak late game - compared to other champion builds). I kept loosing late game vs heavy range comps. Tho- ("range" not "ranger" - since there were only 2 rangers (Vayne and Varus 3rd tier with 3 major items on them) paired with Elise and Morgana - while Swain, Aatrox and Shyvana - were tanking in front. Basically 2 range (25% change to double attack speed)/ 4 Demons (60% mana burn) / 3 Shapeshifters (100% bonus maximum health). Other times i lost vs something similar paired with 2 Dragons (AurelionSol + Shyvana aka Immune to magic damage).
