I just want Set 1 back...
See, Set 2 is great and all but uuuhhh...it really does feel like you're not actually making a proper comp, it just feels jank and random. Like I get it, instead of stacking 1-4 different buffs you stack like 4-8+, but to me Wardens-Rangers doesn't even compare to Knights-Rangers in terms of it feeling like an actual comp (if that makes sense). A Blademaster comp now, better known as a "Blender" comp, is nowhere near comparable to Blademaster-Gunslingers in terms of overall feel, at least to me.
I don't know how to put it into words, it's just that I feel like comps in Set 2 just don't feel like actual comps, they feel like random mish-mash. It also doesn't help that a lot of comps are EXTREMELY reliant on 5 cost units, some even entirely based around them, and the fact that somehow, someway, they messed up the RNG system again with rolls. I can go like 8 rolls without a single unit I want to use, most of them being from a comp other people are already running, meaning if I try to transition it won't work out; so it's just baiting me.
Then there's the issue of item drops being so infrequent, and items completely defining most comps, such as Blender, Berserkers, Light, Poison...oh, actually every comp NEEDS items to do well. Set 1 alleviated this problem eventually when item drops were made fairly frequent, and when Hextech was introduced, which while broken, solved any potential item problems (at least partially).
Then there are cost issues for units. Why is Olaf 4 gold and not 5? Why is Nocturne 3 gold? Why is Yasuo 2 gold? Why is Neeko 2 gold? And the big one, why are 3-5 cost units so significant while 1-2 cost units are terrible? In regards to the last part, it's like we pulled a whole 360 since Set 1, where 1-2 cost units were quite good and anything above that was considered luxury. I don't remember a comp being absolutely defined by more expensive units, besides MAYBE rangers with Ashe and Kayle and I guess Imperials with Swain, and I guess Pantheon in the Knights-Dragon-Guardians comp.
tl;dr: Comps don't feel like comps this time around, RNG feels atrocious and the distribution of power to cost is skewed in a way that makes 3-5 cost units essential to win.
