After playing the game Sniper Elite V2 and dying..a lot..I realized something

We need a new sniper. Not some rag tag sniper like cait but a true sniper. One who hides and positions himself and snipes that one main target behind enemy lines and uses w/e means he can to get to the right position, but like a real sniper if you get caught you're done for.

1)The passive needs to give a huge benefit for being unseen by the enemy and shouldn't be given when seen (like how kha'zix's passive stays when hidden if he doesn't proc it that shouldn't be the case)

2)The Q should be some satisfying headshot type deal and it should be a skill shot just for the hell of even more fun. Low cost and have a 0.75 second wind up as you focus the shot then shoot it

3)This should be some type of trap. I got this idea from the sniper game as well. The sniper should be able to set up trip mines across the field. Max of say, 3-5? You set the trap down then drag the other part of the trap and lay it down and it should stay their permanently until you overuse the limit of trip mines then it explodes or if someone steps on it which it shouldn't do damage but it should reveal and slow them for X amount of time

  1. This shouldn't be some freaking mobility spell. Snipers aren't fking mobile Caitlyn Anyway a snipers job is to get in a good hidden spot and take out the enemy without being seen and/or distract enemies as they sneak past enemy lines. Are you guys ready for this? You throw a rock! Yeap, a rock. Only this rock will send off a ping for the enemy team only (which one idk yet I aint that great at this) Maybe an alert ping? It would give the enemy a false sense of direction and would be funny as hell for trolling. The rock work like a proxy mine. W/e you throw it the rock stays for a few seconds before exploding and doing a small AoE damage

  2. The ult should be like a prone position that lowers your MS but increases your damage and range greatly like maybe TF ult or Noc ult type range. If used in a bush should grant stealth that wears off once you use a skill/aa/get hit by cc etc. Any type of damage/displacement should get rid of the stealth. The sniper pulls out the heavy duty Rifle and begins to seek out his target.

The sniper should have low HP and AS but have great MS and damage. It should be a mid laner assassin.

The job is very clear. Once you see a teamfight nearing to break out you sneak around outside of the fight. Use your ult somewhere(pref a bush) and once there wait for the right moment where the adc is free to kill and BAM. Blow their fking brains out. (ofc 1 shotting wouldn't be a smart balance idea) But during the ult the sniper should have massive damage steroid along with range. Early game shouldn't be that great but late game should be a hyper carry.

the end.

PS. You can praise me now for making one of the most fun sounding champs ever

Xerath says hi. Trying to design a second long-range mid lane assassin could become problematic.

That said though, I'm now imagining the basis of an ADC sniper that could actually be really interesting

Passive: auto attack and Q ranges are increased by 100+(15+level) while in bushes; auto-attacks deal 60% of your attack damage (normal auto-attacks would basically be hip-firing a sniper rifle, so there's no sense in them doing normal damage, plus it makes for a unique playstyle). Q: fires a high-velocity, long-range, narrow, penetrating skillshot after a 1 second aiming charge (much like Xerath Q) with a high ratio and low cooldown. If the champion has been immobile prior to firing, the prior immobility counts as the channel (so if you stood still for half a second prior to firing, you'd only have to channel for another half second). Q cooldown should be reduced by AS, not CDR. It should probably deal reduced damage after the first target. W: some form of trap could be interesting, but I'm not really sure how to do this without stepping on Caitlyn, Nid, or Jinx's toes. Perhaps also give it a passive called "Dialing In" or something that causes every champion kill to permanently grant you 5 AD or something. E: Oh my gosh, I love the rock idea. Perhaps you could even choose which one to make it. Press E once for danger, twice for "help me", thrice for enemy missing. R: You say it's not a good idea to have this be a one-shot. But... why not? How about something along the lines of dealing 20/40/60+10% per hundred AD of the target's maximum health as physical damage? If you made it a 3 second charge plus a narrow skillshot, I can see this being perfectly reasonable. Even if it has full-map coverage, I can see this as not being overpowered. It should make a global Sion ult-style sound when it fires though. Yes, it'd have to be a long cooldown, but the idea of instantly taking an enemy out of the fight might not necessarily be terrible.

With this all together, you'd end up with a champion that loves hiding in bushes with long range. They would be very skillshot dependent, so they'd rely on CC on their team to lock down enemies (Malz, WW, and Liss would go great with this champion). They'd be safer, so they'd have to deal less damage and focus more on taking out primary targets only than on general damage dealing. They'd be countered by mobility and would have to be ultra-squishy. Laning against such a champion would likely be focused on getting early kills on them and denying them feed.

I dislike the rock idea. If the enemy is able to ping my map at any time I'm just going to start ignoring pings because I don't know if it really meant something or if it's from the stupid enemy, and that would end up being a really really toxic mechanic.

The problem with a sniper character in this sort of game is the ability to deal huge damage without being seen is pretty hard to actually balance as it offers quite a bit of safety. the difference in sniper elite is that you can usually get back control of an area that a sniper is shooting from without them being able to easily reposition before you get there, and even if you can't you can usually match their range and take them out that way, the map structure in a moba offers quite a bit more safety than an FPS map. Also the ability to shoot towers from outside of their range is something that could cause problems.
