Karma is a Champion Genuinely Disliked by Riot

7 years ago Karma received League of Legends very first VGU. This champion was given to someone who never played Karma, didn't know anything really about Karma, and had no prior history of working on VGU. Since Karma was League of Legends first official VGU, almost all of us would've though that Riot would use their failures and mistakes as a guideline for how they do future VGU. Unfortunately that is not the case at all and here we are in 2020 and things are being ignored and swept under the rug for work being done on new champions and the same ones every single year.

Karma has been largely ignored for large scale changes and even a gameplay update because Developers fear the backlash. When content creators wait almost 7 years to work on a problem they could have dealt with even 1 year into the failed VGU, different opinions grow and form about what and who Karma should be. Riot Game Developers refused to take a stance and fully define what Karma should be doing with her kit, gameplay identity, art and conversations. Riot Game Developers refuse to acknowledge what was actually fun, exciting, iconic and made Karma more unique. Instead of keeping what was interesting on Karma or even reworking her Mantra abilities to make her more interesting, Riot removes the unique features of Karma and spends 7 long years of buffing and then immediately nerfing basic and Mantra abilities. Karma's problems and issues created by their own work ethic, are not being dealt with. It's been 7 long years of waiting, anticipating, and hoping Riot Game Developers will do what is right and rectify their mistakes. Unfortunately that continues to not be the case and they refuse to do the work necessary to solve Karma's problems, while they waste another year reworking and updating Ryze in new ways . . . along with releasing 5 new champions within 6 months of each other.

Problems that continue to not be addressed by Developers in regards to Karma:

  • Lack of direction and gameplay identity. She does way too much while not doing anything really.
  • Only one damage move that is blocked by minions.
  • Not unique and interesting compared to other supports, mages and item actives who do her job better.
  • Not a clear art direction and gameplay theme that gets players excited.

These Developers were given the feedback they wanted and needed to make Karma a better champion. These Developers know what they need to do to make Karma a better champion. At some point in the past 7 years, something needs to be done to make Karma a better champion. If a champion has to be buffed and then numbers nerfed so many times through out the years, when Developers know what her problems are, that is negligence and a group of content creators who don't care. Kama's problems need to be double downed on and a direction needs to be given to this champion. Having a champion that constantly has to be nerfed or buffed into oblivion because 1 of the 3 Karma playstyles feels they are being ignored and not prioritized, is a problem the Developers unknowingly created and refuse to fix for 7 years. Long time Karma players told them for 7 years to do something and gave them so many ideas and directions. These Developers refused everything until a cancelled gameplay update last year basically gave her old champion concepts that were removed for a reason and didn't belong on Karma. Yet, here we are and nothing is still being done besides back and fourth buffs and nerfs. Shocker, Riot spending another year of throwing buffs and nerfs at Karma in hopes that their VGU 7 years ago will work out in 2020.

riot just need to say what they want karma to be and focus her kit around that is she a mage? remove the utility and make the mantra E do damage, maybe use the W heal as a flat amount that scale with ap is she a support? favor her shield damage and wave clear, make mantra W target allies for a heal maybe? is she a tanky ap champion? focus on her W and colddowns then

right now she dont have enough damage or wave clear outside of mantra Q to be a mage, she feels like a mantra E bot as support, and her tank build doesnt seem appropriate

What should I say as Tahm Kench former main?

Karma ap ratio is getting reverted 10.2 patch, so you only got 2 buffs on shield when you do quick maths.

Karma is a champion disliked by anyone facing her too.
