Nagi, The Deep Sea Fisherman

Concept: This concept for a small kit or ability idea is taken directly from "The Hydrosoul" and is my take on his/her abilities.

Note: I am not the best artist, while i can draw him/her i can't draw it on a computer and i have no way of taking quality picture's myself so if you want to make art for him by all means go ahead and post it in the comments or something.

The first concept makes him a control assassin, basically he'll set up places around the map that if you step in make you just a little bit scared of him.

Lore: In terms of lore i was thinking he was a fisherman who caught and killed a Marai sorcerer and was cursed to become one by said sorcerer, because he could no longer go home and was shunned by the Marai for killing one of their own he made his home in a Deep Trench far away from the other Marai. Doing so caused him to take on the appearance of a Deep Sea version of the Marai, much more menacing.

Now any fisherman that passes by his trench(and too close to the Marai) is dragged from their boat (no matter how large) and killed then eaten by Nagi.

Think of him as the Opposite of "Nautilus" because he gave in to the Depths and let it take him over, thus becoming a true monster and a full fledged murderer.

Edit: Added another Lore

He could also be a fisherman who was cursed to never be able to "leave" the sea and so he's constantly drenching everything around him in water as atonement for his heinous acts against the sea's dweller's.

Possibly a combination of both.

Passive: Curse of The Deep Sea

Nagi will leave puddles of water wherever he goes that last for 3 minutes, while inside of a puddle Nagi will slowly regenerate Mana.

Some of Nagi's Basic Abilities cannot be used without puddles.

(I was thinking that while in water, nagi will swim waist deep in it and if he's moving fast enough he swim like a dolphin.)

Q: Harpoon

Nagi throws his Harpoon in a target direction dealing damage to the first enemy champion hit and creating a tether. While also Inflicting Grievous Wounds for the next 4 seconds.

If nagi is standing in water and "Dragged Into The Depths" is off cooldown while he is tethered to an enemy champion, nagi can use "Dragged Into The Depths" after a 1 second delay and pull himself and the enemy under water.

Concept/Note: Most assassins in the game don't have the ability to pull an enemy, kicking and screaming away from their team and there are plenty of Assassins in nature that do infact do this, we just don't have one in league of legends. The way i balanced this ability is to only have the pull available if his E is off cooldown, this way if the enemy knows that Nagi just used his E and he gets tethered by this ability he has time to flash/dash or run away before being pulled into nagi's zone of control. This ability was also made so that if an enemy is trying to escape and nagi lands this, it rewards him for doing so and will allow him to execute an enemy that almost got away with a sliver of health.

W: Fisherman's Sixth Sense

Enemies that step into water will make a ripple effect that alerts Nagi to the direction they were in when they stepped into it.

Active: Nagi can activate this ability to gain a massive movement speed boost while in water for 6 seconds, during this time if nagi dives he will stay under water for 1 second instead of .5 seconds.

Concept/Note: This ability was to give a second use to his Puddle Mechanic without giving him Rek'Sai's Passive, so he doesn't gain vision he only knows the direction your in. This is similar to how sharks smell blood, doesn't tell them exact coordinates just the direction your in and i feel that's fair. Not to mention the fear of stepping into a puddle and knowing he could be right around the corner should be horrifying.

E: Dragged Into The Depths

Nagi can only use this ability while standing in a puddle.

Nagi can grab a nearby enemy champion and drag them underwater with him, causing them both to become untargetable but during the duration nagi will deal damage to the enemy he takes with him, dealing more damage to enemies that have less health.

If nagi makes contact with an enemy while using "Dive" and this ability is off cooldown, he can use it immediately.

Concept/Note: This ability will be on a short cooldown but since its an execute he won't one shot you with it if your at full health, so the way this works is imagine actually trying to fight a sea creature and he keeps pushing you under water and biting/clawing at you, letting you up for air every so often only to push you back down. The untargetable part of this ability is so that nagi can't pull a helpless champion from his team and have them be bursted like many other champions can, it gives the enemy team time to react. This ability is meant to reflect the terror that being drowned by him should be.

R: Dive!

Upon activation nagi gains the ability to dive into and out of puddles up to 3 times, damaging enemies he passes through. Nagi will stay under water for .5 seconds before surfacing after each dive, during this time he is untargetable and can move faster but cannot move outside of his puddles.

Concept/Note: The way this will work is the same as Ahri or Kha'Zix R, there would be a short delay between each dive probably 1 second this way it's not impossible to hit Nagi while he's damaging you.

Edits-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Inspiration for his design come from the following.

Courage the Cowardly Dog's Season 1 Episode 9 "Queen of the Black Puddle"

In this episode a demonic siren who lives under water can appear in every puddle throughout Courage's home and she will catch people, drag them under water then, presumably, eat them.

The other place his abilities come from are from Azir's original design where he was going to have a sand mechanic that was shelved for a different champ down the line so i desided to combine the old Hyrdro Soul with that concept, creating "Nagi"

Nagi can also be female or have a seperate lore, maybe he/she is a sea monster who drags people and fisherman off the coast of Bilgewater and other shores then, again, eats them.

Finally we have a lot of water champions but none of them actually personify a scary deep sea creature or mythical beast, and all of them don't need the water, they just control it. Fizz for example isn't scary except in game, he's more so playful and fun. Nami is just a dedicated representative so having a concept for the darker side of the ocean seems really cool and unexplored except with "Nautilus" who lore is something i really love but is again not that fleshed out despite being really cool.

Pretty fun and interesting concept! I like the idea of an assassin that brings their target to their zone of control rather than the other way around!
