"But all you have to do is zone him from farm" HOW!? LIKE LEGIT? HOW!?

Like, there is not early way you can zone him from 100% farm, he's GOING to get strong, he's going to outscale you, he's going to auto you for 1000 HP witha sheen proc and there is ABSOLUTELY nothing i seem to be able to do, to stop him. It's so unbelievably infuriating, i can't win a SINGLE game against this fucking champion and he's in litterally every game that i play top. Why? Why can't i go ONE game without seeing this peice of shit, infinitely stacking mother fucking dog.

"Zone him off of minion, keep him from stacking, that's how you win."

EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS NEVER PLAYED AGAINST HIM AS A BRUISER WILL SAY THIS EXACT LINE! Do you know what this means? Nothing, because this doesn't work! Like, this has NEVER worked for me, no matter how much i freeze waves, no matter how much i stand between him and his minions he STILL get's strong, by level 9 he'll come back and 1v1 me with no issue at all, every. single. fucking. time.

I can't stand this champion, i hate all Infinitely stacking champions, they shouldn't exist, i want all of them removed from the game forever.

(Or at the very least make it so you don't have BABY SIT THEM FOR 50 FUCKING MINUTES)

Honestly I hate Nasus, but that’s because I really suck at wave management.

Nasus is going to get stacks. This is a truth that is universal. The best way to deal with that is to win the game before he becomes a threat.

Which is frustrating, I’ll admit.

Zerenza15 votes

Yeah i despize "Time Bomb" champs, champions that put the whole game under pressure because if you don't win before a certain time, they win.

Yeah, but the problem with this is that this allows a lot of players to climb to elos they shouldn't be in. This is because in plat and below, no one can close out a game before 40 minutes, no matter how fed you get. Basically nasus is a guaranteed win in plat<.

RavenMagus5 votes

I have found, both in my games playing as Nasus and in my games playing against Nasus, that he is actually an extreme midgame threat.

He will outscale every laner and win every lane. He will become a threat. It's almost impossible to stop, and there will come a time when he becomes an absolute monster.

But later on, when everyone gets towards full build, there becomes too much damage for Nasus to deal with. Nasus gets infinite stacking damage, but he does not have infinite durability, and it doesn't matter how much damage his Q does when he gets CC'd and melted by a lategame ADC.

The issue with Nasus isn't really ending the game before he becomes big. He'll become big. The issue you have when facing him is surviving that monster phase till your team becomes too strong for Nasus to handle.

I'll tell you a secret - there's no winning against Nasus right now. All advice about shutting him down early is old, from past seasons, and completely null and void at the moment. The only thing preventing Nasus from being a complete monstrosity is that bot lane completely determines the game, and you'll know who wins in 15 min based on bot. So Nasus being disgustingly OP doesn't really matter at the end of the day.

You say that but according to op.gg, nasus has a 47% winrate so far this patch. So clearly he can be beaten.

On another note, I've had lots of success with kled vs nasus. With kled you can fight nasus pretty easily until around 15 minutes. Just ward up to avoid ganks and be aggressive.

And on the flip side, when playing as nasus, I know jax/illaoi/renekton are also very good against him. And there's plenty more champs that have the advantage against him. He has more losing matchups than winning ones (according to winrate, your choice whether you take stock in winrates or not).

That’s actually really wierd. Up until like yesterday he was the #2 top laner under GP for like two patches.

Yeah I wasn't expecting him to drop as hard as he did. The only thing i can guess is that klepto was maybe carrying him harder than people thought. Though its possible that his winrate might rise again once people start taking other keystones.

Personally I like spellbook in harder matchups, but I'm not quite sure if it is ideal.

I guess we just have to wait a week or so and see where he ends up.

pfft easy solution. just 1v5 him. sure he'll take a champ or two with him, but...ummm. Where was this going?

50000000000000002 votes

Counterplay to any champion is 1v5ing them with hard CC

flibitydoo4 votes

As dumb as that sounds, it does work against nasus

like, he's not going to E>Q one-shot your alistar or thresh who built full tank support

and during the fight if your alistar or thresh (or even janna) is smart, they'll pop some cc on nasus when he goes in to fight anyone which slows him down massively. And then the rest of your team will chew through him since the only defensive thing he can do is gain a little bit more max health with his ult. Like if karma fires every q on nasus, him walking around with reduced movespeed throughout the fight actually lowers his threat so much.

OP's problem is he's looking at league of legends as a 1 v 1 game, but every tank is going to outperform and outcontribute nasus in teamfights, and every bruiser and fighter just about everyone is going to have free reign to farm up just as much as nasus during the laning phase.

koshkyra3 votes

And then while your team is busy 1v5ing him, the other four members of his team have taken baron, a drake, and are now pushing your mid inhib

TheNthDimention17 votes

Teemo does not counter Nasus. Nasus is top 5 win rate or top 10 in every bracket.

Kokua1 votes

Teemo can blind him and prevent stacks, possibly even miss some cs. He can poke from a safe distance to the point where they will back off the waves or get punished for. If he is passive long enough to let the waves go to the turret, you can still blind him under turret and further kill his farm. He's a very flexible champion that can build ad, ap, speed, or even tank, which helps to work around whatever build they go with in assumption of what you might build. There are many ways to play Teemo, and if your way doesn't work, that doesn't mean that there isn't a way that it does work.

INoble KnightI3 votes

Well usually post 6 Nasus wins every fight against Teemo unless seriously behind.

Nasus : "The cycle of Life and Death continues. I will Q, they will QQ."

Jbels11 votes

The best Champion to play into Nasus is Darius. The problem with playing Teemo is that Teemo seems like a good choice on paper, but as soon as Nasus gets a Spectre's Cowl and level 6 or 7, he'll just wither you, walk up and kill you if you don't have flash (and sometimes when you do have flash).

To beat Nasus, you need to get a seriously good freeze going right outside of your tower. The best way to do this is to set it up so their wave has 4 melee minions in addition to their regular wave more than your wave. The important thing is, DO NOT PUSH. Nasus feels safest when he's farming under his own tower. Yes, you're sacrificing tower damage in this situation, but you're also keeping Nasus out of the game for as long as possible.

Now when you get your Freeze going, the moment, the exact SECOND, you see that stack whore go for a minion, you beat his ass. Harass the fuck out of him, but don't let the wave push. This forces him to choose between waiting out what could potentially be a very long freeze nd losing a crap ton of CS, or trading health for bits of gold here and there. This becomes especially effective at level 6, where you now have kill potential on him. I once literally FlameHorizoned a Nasus by getting an extremely long freeze going. I was at 114 CS by the time the freeze broke and he was able to get his 14th minion, and at that point, it was over for him.

Now, disclaimer, most of this shit only really works for champions who can actually bully. It also assumes this isn't Klepto Nasus (which I'm pretty sure won't exist soon anyway because Riot, so whatever)

“Beating his ass” when he goes for that minion will cause the wave to push seeing as you can’t reset minion aggro that close to tower. Also with more abilities aggroing minions freezes are that sustainable unless your passive in which you kinda can’t be. But then there’s the other issue where he wins battles of attrition due to sustain and stacks. The beat Nasus solo window pretty much closes at 6.

Back when I started playing nasus could get shafted so hard early, by a teemo or some sort of poke. Now he builds 1 Armour or MR item and you can't get him away from his CS.

Tails90161 votes

I don't mind his Q taking out 70% of my hp if I at least have a chance to regain it. His W stops this. The only few champions I think I've seen kill a Susan in a 1v1 post 400 stacks is Ezreal (Can't touch him), Ryze (Same thing), Olaf ( The one I saw snowballed out of control) and Vayne (Do I need to explain this?)

Of course these were before preseason/Klepto

MentalHangukJg2 votes

You're forgetting this guy MasterYi

Arekualkhemi1 votes

A Proper Nasus with Ghost also kills all of these guys. Even Yi with enough damage as the Qs just come in. Ezrael can only shift and flash once, crippled by max wither is his death sentence as well. Olaf just needs to get kited in his ult and then killed once it wears off. And Vayne got nerfed like she deserves it.

I think his passive really needs to be looked at. I forget the exact amount but even 10% Lifesteal with his Q+Sheen, even if you bully him he can pretty quickly get himself back up and since Sheen is cheap, gives mana, and cooldown and empowers Q, it takes no time at all before pushing him out of lane alone, or even with occasional ganks. I think I had like an 80% win rate with him last season because of how easy it is

Grevious wounds --> cant 1v3 anymore. Play Darius Poke champions If he takes klepto, punish him for being retarded and having no keystones late game just get 2 champs with cc such as: (Alistar, cait) (Rakan, Fed Xayah) (Vayne)

There is a lot u can do to kill him. I honestly see him as a normal champion that falls off late game and to focus him right after the adc is dead.

GodlyBane5 votes

Btw, no Nasus main is in master/challenger teir. Same as last season. Higher elos know how to deal with him better then 90% of the player base (silvers and bronze..)

Spoofghoul3 votes

but nasus is pretty useless

he is only good in the midgame

make sure your team gets a lead early

you can deny him his stacks early for sure but eventually he will get back if you can deny him hard and stall his power by a lot then by all means

but if you can get your team ahead you won regardless of his stacks

his damage might scale infinitely but not his defenses nor his lack of mobility so really all you need to deal with nasus is a tank who can push him in hard and gank other lanes and if you can hold the lane later on that is enough

once teamfights happen you are more useful anyway so you win early and you win late and if you win early hard enough you will also win mid

Honestly? I'm a otp Renekton.

Just push.

Start at level 1 and just keep pushing.

Let his jungler come, then try to kill his jungler if you can; otherwise escape.

Worry about his cs, which you can effect, over his stax, which you inevitably can't.

If you harass him enough early on, try to finish him off or at least force him to flash/tele; take ignite if you're playing as someone with a lot of threat.

You're generally not gonna do anything but push until you kill his first tower. Hopefully his jungler doesn't harass you to the point where you can't even do that, but if he does your jungler's bound to do something more useful in the meantime. Just accept that you're not gonna have a fun or exciting laning phase and do nothing but push to his tower and harass him under tower.

don't bother with nasus in lane. the buff on his R made him so that he can straight up 1v1 you after level 6.

If you don't feed him and just shove the wave under his tower try to roam. if you can't roam just wait till the team fight starts.

nasus in team fights is horrible can be kited easily. but I agree the R buff was BS

DO NOT shove the lane lol.

That's what a Susan wants u to do so he can freeze it and free farm. To deal with Susan more easily people need to learn how to freeze it in front of their tower, setting up easy ganks with the looooong lane he has to walk back through with no mobility, and allowing u to go for trades that he can't follow u through with very well due to your turret being right behind you.

Also remember he is strong in the mid game, but does fall off again later.

that doesn't win the game tho. roaming and just shoving the lane is the best way against nasus. you force him to join team fights with 100-200 stacks he will struggle

Romans VI XXIII3 votes

I welcome u to shove top into me playing Susan and watch you struggle to CS at my tower while I freeze it, setting easy ganks and free farming, by the time your roaming has played off, if it ever does. I'll have an easy 200-250 stacks and I'll be ready to be a mid game beast.

Also feel free to roam uselessly in the low lvl allowing a Susan to get a lvl advantage/freeze/free farm/ect.... By pushing and shoving it early u r setting yourself up to lose.

That's just how Riot does scaling champions. No matter what you do, they will get strong at the scheduled time off passive gold and rubber band exp. Had a teammate afk at start and go 7 levels down by the time they reconnected. He was 1 level down 5 mins later.

DeusVult2 votes

Nasus is too strong atm, with bruisers who used to counter him being in a weak spot, and Riot buffed his early game a ton with the change to ult, giving him health, defensive stats and reduced Q CD. They also got rid of some of his counter-play which was to build armor against him so that his Q damage didnt hurt as much, but since E now shreds % armor he can deal damage to everyone.

I love Nasus but Riot has taken away his real weaknesses.

ChizPizaZane2 votes

I do have to admit that Nasus is pretty bullshit but there are some champion that can deny him from CS and shit on him early such as:

Illaoi The reason she tears Nasus a new asshole is because of the fact that she is a lane bully and can easily deny cs by constant poke form her Q and E, and if he tries to 1v1 just E him as soon as he gets close then pop ult and BOOM easy kill.

Warwick I know this may seem weird but hear me out, Naturally when you are against a poke champion you're supposed to out-poke them, not only do you have insane poke as WW, You also have Insane lifesteal. Yeah I know that WW's lane CS'ing is pretty shit but if you poke Nasus enough early game you can continuously kill him and deny him a lot of CS

I hope I helped even a little

When I used to play Lissandra in top lane, I felt an instant urge to just go afk the moment I saw I was up against Nasus. There was literally NOTHING I could do to stop him from powerfarming and becoming a lategame monster. That's what I hate about the infinite stacking mechanics of Veigar and Nasus. Other champions who also have those have it pretty well balanced. You don't feel overwhelmed and powerless after Bard, Thresh, Sion, or even Kindred get some stacks. (With Cho'Gath it really depends, because his stacking is the most situational, I guess, but I would place him among Veigar and Susan). But when Nasus gets a ton of stacks you feel like the game is basically over. It seems the only way to beat Nasus is either to pick a hardcounter or beg the jungler to camp you 24/7.
