Gender: Male Race: Human Birthplace: Noxus Faction: Black Rose

Abstract:

Runeterra's greatest (and fakest) magician, Woz is an descendant of the founder of the Black Rose. He was captured for his treachery against the Noxian government before Swain, although it was merely a front for the real coup to begin. Now as a gladiator in the Fleshing, he admirably (and secretly) serves Swain through his great escapes against Draven in the arena, distracting the oppressed Noxian common-folk through bread and circuses as a burst AP caster in the mid lane.

Strengths and Goodpicks

Woz is particularly good at catching opponents off guard with his abilities. With passive AP scaling that gains the longer he remains out of sight, and the ability to put himself or his opponent out of the map for a brief time, he has the burst potential of a caster with the stealth and sneak attacks of an assassin. He can make himself untargetable for a brief period, and stealth himself.

Works well with:

Darius Woz's trap doors can lock down a target for Darius to land a pull more easily. His doves can also lower a group of enemy champions' health enough to help Darius do what he does best: dunk, slam, and jam.

Draven Woz's trap doors can lock down and chunk opponents, allowing Draven an easy target to land his axes upon. In addition, since Draven has no defensive abilities, Woz's trap door can give Draven just enough damage negation to get out of a tough spot, or a quick escape if all else fails.

Nocturne Nocturne's ultimate allows Woz's passive to scale for the duration of the vision removal (as long as he isn't in sight of an enemy champion). In addition, the trap doors will allow Nocturne an easier target to latch onto, and his doves will reveal champions that Nocturne would not have seen otherwise.

Weaknesses and counters:

Despite Woz having insane ability power scaling and zoning capabilities, he's very squishy, mana hungry, and lacks hard disenage, allowing sticky, bursty champions, and champions with heavy crowd control to easily make quick work of the great and powerful Woz.

Struggles against:

LeeSin Lee has an extremely safe engage upon Woz, who lacks disengage necessary to remove a sticky champion like Lee. In addition, his true sight will allow his team to see him through his moving fog, without having to go inside.

Veigar While Woz's fog moves, hard crowd control will reveal him inside of it, making Veigar's Event Horizon an invaluable tool against Runeterra's greatest magician. In addition, due to being an AP champion, and with his passive scaling on his AP, Woz will take a lot more damage from Veigar's ultimate than most champions.

TwistedFate Twisted Fate's ultimate will instantly nullify Woz's passive. In addition, outside of using his trap doors to dodge TF's Wild Cards, Woz cannot escape TF's targeted burst. In addition, Twisted Fate's pick a card and stacked deck can burst down Woz, who is even squishier than Twisted Fate is.

Primary: Mage Secondary: Assassin

Attack Power: 1 Defense Power: 3 Ability Power: 10 Difficulty: 8

Abilities:

Passive: Preparation

When not visible by enemy champions for 4 seconds (or instantly when in stealth) Woz's ability power scaling begins scaling by 1% in the Fibonacci Sequence until he reaches 25% bonus AP scaling. The passive scaling works for one spell cast at any amount, whether it hits or misses, and will not start scaling again until he is out of vision range of an enemy champion.

Q Wingmen: Range: 825 Width: 325 Mana Cost: 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 / 130 Cooldown: 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12

Active: After channeling for 0.5 seconds, Woz summons a flock of doves to swarm in a line, dealing magic damage every 0.5 seconds for 3 seconds to all enemies inflicted for a maximum of 90 / 150 / 210 / 270 / 330 (+90% AP), and granting true sight to all enemies inflicted for the duration.

W Escape Artist: Range: 650 Maximum Wall Range: 450 Mana Cost: 70 Cooldown: 12 / 11.5 / 11 / 10.5 / 10

Passive: When Woz enters a trap door, his passive is instantly fully stacked.

Active - Wall Cast: Woz reveals a secret passage on a piece of terrain that can be used from either side after 0.25 seconds, but will close after one use. Woz and other allies may use the passage.

Active - Ground Cast: Woz reveals a 225 radius trap door on a target location that opens after 0.5 seconds. Woz, allies, and enemies can fall into the trap door. Anyone who falls though the trap door will fall through the map, becoming untargetable for 1.5 seconds, then returning atop the same area. Enemies will take 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+60% AP) magic damage upon impact. If Woz was under any crowd control effects when he enters the trap door, they will be removed once he returns.

E Smoke and Mirrors: Cast Range: 0 Range: 1800 Mana Cost: 60 Cooldown: 15

Active: Woz creates a 600 radius cloud of smoke that slowly rolls over an area for 6 seconds. While inside the smoke, Woz is stealthed, and gains 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 14% (+1% per 100 AP) movement speed. Attacking, ability casts, being affected by hard crowd control, or walking inside the smoke will reveal him. Enemies inside of the smoke will have their magic resistance reduced initially by 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 20 that decays to 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 after 2 seconds. The smoke will roll past terrain, but Woz cannot pass through unless he casts Escape Artist.

R Puppet Master: Cast Range: 825 Tether Range: 1000 Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown: 120 / 105 / 90

Active: Woz channels for 2 seconds, instantly throwing out tethers of wire to all enemy champions in a 80 degree cone. After 2 seconds have passed, any champions within the tether range will be rended by the wire, taking 150 / 250 / 350 (+60% AP) magic damage, applying grievous wounds and are slowed by 45 / 55 / 65% when moving away from Woz for 5 seconds. Enemy champions that escape the tether range after the channel will take the full damage, but not be debuffed.

Lore:

The Amazing and Magnificent Woz, greatest magician in all of Runeterra, is a man shrouded in mystery. No on is sure exactly where he came from, as no government, Demacian or Noxian, has any records of his existence. Some whisper that he's a charlatan, scamming people out of their money though easily disproved parlor tricks. Some say that his magical prowess eclipses that of any mage in history. Some say that he's connected to the Black Rose, a descendant of a noble bloodline. Others argue that he's the founder, made immortal by his black magic. Woz is all of those things and none, and he certainly isn't going to reveal his secrets anytime soon.

First verbal accounts of him recall a tale of a wandering magician, claiming to be a master of ancient arcane arts, magical artifacts, and miracle cures. He gathered massive crowds from his supposed miracles, but left believers disappointed. The only recorded information on the man known as Woz is his arrest record. Despite a lack of birth records, he had received countless complaints form the populace, and arrested on multiple occasions by the Noxian government for fraud and petty larceny, but the lack of evidence made it impossible to convict him. Then, out of the blue, he attempted to assassinate High General of Noxus in broad daylight by slipping poison in his brandy. The government instantly convicted him of high treason, and masses gathered for his execution. At the Fleshing, a full house of rabid fans of Draven waited to execute the most infamous criminal in the history of Noxus. Bound in a straight jacket, gagged at the mouth, and a ball and chain on each of his arms and legs for fear of his supposed arcane ability, it should have been an extremely easy target for the Glorious Executioner. However, as soon as Draven landed his axe, Woz went up in a cloud of smoke. By the time the smoke cleared, Woz was atop the throne of the High General bowing before a crowd of shocked onlookers before disappearing in a cloud of smoke once again. In astonishment and excitement, the crowd roared at the spectacle. Woz, to this date, is the only person to ever survive Draven's executions. He continues to peddle his magic and miracle cures out in the open, despite being wanted dead or alive by the Noxian government. He is always, eventually caught, always bound in increasingly secure ways for the execution, and always, ultimately, escapes Draven's axes. While Draven's pride was gravely wounded by Woz, his resolve was reinforced. The thrill and glory of taking down Noxus' was Draven's alone, and the Fleshing always had record breaking turnouts on Woz's "death day." Both Draven and Woz got the attention and spectacle they always dreamed.

However, with Woz, things are never as they seem. Why was a man who escapes impossible scenarios on a daily basis convicted with overwhelming evidence of orchestrating the sloppiest assassination in history? There are whispers that this is simply a conspiracy, a means of distracting the Noxian populace from the oppression of their government. Some say that he secretly worked for Jericho Swain as a scapegoat so that the real takeover could begin. Some say that he's using Swain as a puppet for his own mysterious goals. The only thing that the people agree upon are that Woz is a man of great power and mystery, and as such is to be both respected and feared.

"It appears your best was not good enough executioner! Fear not Draven, for you have not seen the last of the Amazing and Magnificent Woz!"

I really like the idea of the ability smoke and mirrors and its play with escape artist. His q is fine if a little common and straight forward. The ult, puppet master, feels too much like Morg's and doesn't fit the theme of magician. I haven't read all the lore or voice lines so forgive me if its explained there, but TLDR man.

A note about the visual for ground casted Escape Artist, perhaps it should be something like a box and swords trick or an Iron Maiden instead of a trap door. It would make more sense and fit the theme a little better. Not sure what the visual for the wall cast would look like though.
