Cho'gath rework concept
So as we all know Cho is a rather unusual champ....he doesnt really fit the juggernaut role, nor does he fit the tank role, he is unique in his own way, which makes for a rather interesting champ, now you may know, cho is rather dated...being one of the few champs left using an old rig...additionally though, his kit is VERY dated with his Q/W remaining basically the same, his E got tweaked from the weird active/passive effect it used to have to a 3 hit active....his ult...well his ult used to be worthless as keeping stacks was damn near impossible, but they got updated to the way it currently is along with adding a health ratio, which causes a lot of people to believe cho is op, the idea with this rework is to make him more consistent and fun while at the same time still keeping his skill floor relatively low so let's get started (keep in mind the numbers would almost definitely have to be changed)
Passive - Apex Predator: Cho'Gath gains health from all units he kills 10 for minions 25 for cannon minions and large monsters and 50 for champions, as Cho'Gath reaches various thresholds of health his size increases and he gains new passive effects, additionally Cho'Gath does NOT naturally gain health per level 1000 Health - Carnivore: Upon killing a unit Cho'Gath restores 1/2/3/4% of his maximum health (Based on Ultimate level) and 5% of his maximum mana, increased to 20% max health for champion takedown 1500 Health - Void skin: Cho'Gath takes 10/15/20/25% reduced magic damage (Based on Ultimate level) 2000 Health - Shockwave: After casting a spell Cho'Gath charges up a void shockwave, that will deal 100 - 250 + (2.5/5/7.5/10% of max health) as magic damage and slow by 30/50/70/90% (Based on Ultimate level) 30/25/20/15 second CD. Scales with CDR 3000 Health - War Breaker: As Cho'Gath Remains in combat he charges a powerful attack, after being in combat for at least 5 seconds Cho'Gath readies his attack, cleaving all targets in front of him for 20% of his maximum health 30/25/20/15 second CD. Scales with CDR 5000 Health - Unchained Terror of the Void: Upon reaching this threshold and achieving maximum ult level, Cho'Gath becomes permanently unstoppable for the remainder of the game, additionally his passive cooldowns are reduced by an additional 5 seconds Overall the passive here is the most complicated part of his kit, the rest will be fairly straightfoward and similar to his current kit, while adding a bit here and there
Q - Rupture: Cho'Gath unleashes a shockwave of void energy toward a targeted area, dealing 80/120/160/200/240 + (80% of ability power) + (10% of his targets max health) as magic damage and knocking them up for 1.5 seconds. Enemies caught in the path in between will take 75% damage and be knocked up for half the time Cooldown - 14/13/12/11/10 seconds // Mana Cost - 100 at all ranks // Range - Same as live It travels to the location now instead of just appearing, hitting targets along the way....think like how naut ult works, closer Q means it will land faster
W - Void Bellow: Cho'Gath unleashes a silencing roar, interrupting abilities currently in use, dispelling buffs, and silencing enemies for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds Cooldown - 100/90/80/70/60 seconds // Mana Cost - 250 at all ranks // Range - Scales with size, with live being mid size An extremely powerful tool, damage removed as he has plenty of damage already, teams will have to play around it
E - Vorpal spikes: mostly same as live, but distance traveled scales with size
R - Feast: Cho'Gath attempts to devour his target, dealing 20/25/30% of their maximum health as true damage, if Cho'Gath kills a champion with this ability, the cooldown is reduced by 50% and he gains 100/200/300 extra health Cooldown - 150/120/90 seconds // Mana Cost - 100 at all ranks Slightly nerfed from live damagewise, as it does kinda suck being eaten by cho after taking a little bit of damage, but more rewarding when you do kill someone with it
Overall the idea of this rework was to make cho work more like a juggernaut then a mage...while still retaining his current identity of the colossal void monster that gains health, cho will be much easier to bully in lane due to being the only champ without health scaling with level, but if he survives the laning phase, he will eventually scale into a beast of terror this is just a concept i thought of an decided to elaborate on, don't be too harsh on the criticism, its doubtful this will ever come to pass as his actual kit
