#Introduction & Backstory

Azalin is a Top/Jungler fighter/assassin/tank, who uses mana for his abilities. He is a melee champion, using a large halberd with a large axe like blade, he holds it 1-handed though. In his other hand he holds his own heart, this is what he uses for his abilities. Azalin is a very special type of Immortal, he can die just like anyone else but his heart, which is completely indestructible, will recreate his body wherever it is no matter what.
Azalin wears tattered and worn robes that expose his chest where there is a large hole from where he ripped out his heart. He doesn't wear any form of protection as dying means nothing to him. He wears a silver necklace that hangs down to his mid-chest area, on the necklace is a silver angel holding a heart to her chest (the angel of his religion). His Halberd-axe is very ancient in design and despite its thousands of years of use it isn't worn down in the slightest. Azalin is slightly larger then the average man and has a muscular build, his face is very stern but tired from his very long life.

No one knows where Azalin comes from, over the years even he forgot where he came from. He was around during all the great wars and even before the people behind them were even born. It was a bit after the Rune Wars where he was finally captured and held prisoner in an undisclosed location in a town connected to the Summoners, until he broke out. His immortality comes from an ancient religion worshiping an angel of death, where you sacrifice others for immortality and as long as you continue to take others lives you will remain immortal, but Azalin is a special case. Azalin was sacrificed as a baby to this religion by his father, but instead of giving him immortality the angel taking, pity on Azalin, took his fathers life instead and made Azalin immortal. In order to pay the angel's kindness back, he walks the earth 'sacrificing' others to his goddess.

#Lore

"Sir we have a problem"

"Huh? Yes? Well what is it!?" he had never liked his new intern and his annoying voice, being woken up in the middle of the night did not help lessen this hate. "Out with it boy! In case you didn't notice its still the middle of the night and i would like to go back to sleep sometime this century."

"Y-yes sir sorry, uh well there was a break out and uh i was informed uh..."

His anger flaring "The next time you say 'Uh' im going to have you shipped back to whatever craphole you crawled out of, now what were you informed of, in as little words as possible."

"He escaped sir, Azalin, well it was more like he walked out, he took his weapon with him and he... he... well he 'sacrificed' the men guarding him" the young intern hadn't worked for his boss for long but he knew him well enough and seeing his bosses face drained of all color frightened him even more.

There was a long pause, then "Listen well son, you get you and your family out of the city, take nothing and go to the League of Legends. Tell them Azalin has escaped."

The sudden change in his bosses attitude shocked him "But sir what about you?"

"Nevermind that! Do what i say, quick! Go now... GO!"

As the intern and his family left the last thing they saw was the city burning, there the occasional scream for awhile and then nothing. They would never see their home again. It took them several days to reach the League, they were hungry and tired. When they got to the gates the only words he could choke out were "Azalin... Escaped... Sacrificed..." that was all that was needed for the League to fly into action. No one knew what happened next, but the next day Azalin began to appear on the fields of justice. The League learned a valuable lesson that day, there is no stopping Azalin the Immortal, the Blood Angel, the Sacrificer.

#ABILITIES

#The Undying!

  • Azalin gains an extra 5/10/15% on bonus Armor, Magic Resist, and Health.

  • When Azalin dies he drops his heart, when he revives he has the option to revive at his hearts location. (420 second cooldown)

#Blood Ax
**Cost:**55 mana
Range: 550
Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5 seconds

Azalin smashes his giant halberd down dealing damage to any enemies hit. If he hits an enemy Champion or Large/Epic monster it roots them, Azalin will then be able to reactivate Blood Ax to pull himself to the enemy. If Blood Ax kills the target the cooldown will be reduced by 4 seconds.

Deals 50/85/120/155/190 (+70% of his AD) physical damage to all enemies hit. If it hits an enemy Champion or Large/Epic monster they will be rooted for 1 second.

#Instant Revival
Cost: 75 mana
Range: 475
Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds

Azalin throws his heart to target location, he then recreates his body at that location, both his new and old body will explode.

Each body deals 35/70/105/140/175 (+50% of his AP) as magic damage to all enemies around him.

#Angels Sacrifice
Cost: none
Range: 525
Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/9 seconds

Azalin creates a sacrificial circle at target location for 3 seconds, any enemies Azalin kills while in this circle will return health and mana to him, he also gains attack speed while in the circle.

Instant Revival can be used to teleport to this area without going on cooldown (can only be done once while Angels Sacrifice is active)

Each kill returns 15/20/25/30/35 life and 10/13/16/19/22 mana (this is doubled on champion and Large/Epic monster kills), he gains 20/25/30/35/40% attack speed while standing in the circle.

#Blood Angel
Cost: 100 mana
Range: 700
Cooldown: 120/100/90 seconds

Azalin channels through his heart calling for his goddess and summoning an angel at target location dealing damage when she lands and then over time to anyone standing near her. Any enemy champion that dies to the Blood Angel will reduce all of Azalin cooldowns.

Azalin channels for 1.5 seconds then summons an angel who deals 100/150/200 (+80% of his AD) as physical damage to any enemy hit, then 50/60/70 (+40% of his AP) as magic damage to everything around it for 3 seconds. Azalins cooldowns will be reduced by 20% per enemy champion killed by Blood Angel.

#Explanations

Azalin isnt a complicated champion so ill keep this section short, I know Azalin doesn't bring much anything new to the table but i feel the way it comes together on this champ is what makes him unique. Do note that all numbers and ratios are changeable so please try to focus on the abilities rather then the damages, although if you feel something is too out of balance feel free to comment below telling me so.

His passive was where this champ started, everything else grew from his passive. Basically he can respawn where he died, the way it works would be something like one of his abilities would have a different option only available while in the fountain for a few seconds where he can teleport to his body.

His Q is very simple and boring compared to his other abilities but i like it, i like thinking of all the plays you could make with this. Something like pulling yourself over a wall by hitting Blue buff and stealing it. Super cool XD

The W was also one of the first ideas i had for Azalin and it took me awhile to decide how to implement it. I like how it turned out but thats just me.

His E took forever for me to finally decide on an ability, there were several options like draining someones life, spinning his ax, jumping in the air and slamming down, but none really stuck out to me. I personally like skills like this, and i feel like this fits the undying nonstoppable force Azalin represents. It makes him hard to straight duel or push out of lane.

The R gave me a bit of trouble as well, but i like where i finally settled. Very simple Azalin channels for 1.5 seconds then calls down an angel which upon impact deals damage then releases an aura that deals damage to everything around it. It is not controllable, movable, or target-able.

#SKINS

Blood Priest Azalin - He would be dressed in tribal clothes similar to those worn by the Maya, he would have a priest-like headdress and cloth robes. Gold armbands and necklaces all over him and golden skull earings. He would hold a giant bone scepter with a blade on it and a bleeding heart (this time not his own :D) He would have a red paint band going over his eyes and red paint on his cheeks and chin. Instead of summoning an angel it would be a giant evil looking half bird half man thing.

Soul Reaver Azalin - He would would have a twisted glowing blue chest piece that stuck up into two points that follow his collarbones and over his shoulders. His chest and stomach would be a glowing blue soul like substance, his legs and lower abdomen would look like twisted demonic armor. His left hand would be a large demon claw and instead of a heart it would be a flaming ball of energy. His weapon would be a twisted spike with a ragged edged ax on the end that glows with spirit fire. He summons a giant blue flaming demon instead of an angel and all his abilitied would be spirit fire colored.

Flower Power Azalin - Wearing tie-dye shirt and bell bottom pants. There would be a ringlet of flowers on his head and his is left hand he would hold a pot with a flower in it. His weapon would be a tree branch covered in flowers and a giant Tulip instead of a blade. His W would explode in bunch of colored petals and instead of summoning an angel he summons a giant sunflower with rains down sunflower seeds.

#BUILD

Azalin is a fighter so building AD on him is usually the best way to go, he can also go tank.
#Item Builds: Starting Build: item 1055 item 2003 item 3340 --- or --- item 1054 item 2003 item 3340
Essential Items: item 3078 item 3074 item 3143
Offensive Items: item 3072 item 3153 item 3035 item 3142
Defensive Items: item 3068 item 3102 item 3065 item 3083 item 3026
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #Ability Sequences

There are a few ways i can see him being built Fighter, Tank, and Assassin. (Obviously these are just my opinions, if you differ in how you would build him please comment below i would like to see it :D)

For Fighter i see this R>Q>E>W. His R because its his Ult, his Q next because it does a lot of damage and allows him to get up close and personal. His E next for the sustain and the attack speed buff not to mention it gives his W a 0 second cooldown once. I think for quick engages this sequence gives him the best dueling potential up top lane. Level sequence would go Q-E-W-Q-Q-R-Q-E-Q-E-R-E-E-W-W-R-W-W

For a Tank i see R>E>Q>W. His E gives him sustain and attack speed which will help if he trades as he wont be building much damage. The Q would come next as it his most damaging ability and as a tank, then his W since it scales with AP and doesnt do much damage it isnt all that important to a tank except to get where he needs to go in a teamfight. Level sequence would go Q-E-E-W-E-R-E-Q-E-Q-R-Q-Q-W-W-R-W-W

For an Assassin i see R>Q>W>E. His Q yet again his most damaging ability will help him engage his opponent, his W will help him escape or burst his opponent. His E will only help him burst faster but it does not need to be on a low cooldown for an assassin, its main use in this case is for the 0 second cooldown on his W. Level sequence would go Q-W-E-Q-Q-R-Q-W-Q-W-R-W-W-E-E-R-E-E

In the Jungle he would level up his abilities in a very similar order to whichever role you choose, but most likely will start with his E first for the attack speed and health back.

So tell me what you think in the comments below and dont forget to upvote if you liked it :) (accidentally posted this in the wrong section XD so now im posting it again here, thank you Flying Buntcake for reminding me)

I love the idea. The axe seems out of place to me since he has the power of his religion and how his heart works.

I really like this idea... It's fairly interesting because the second part of his passive is almost exactly the same as the passive of a theoretical phoenix champion (normal, not cryo) I was inventing once... However, one thing I had to do with my phoenix was not allow him to buy items while dead if he chose to respawn at his last location because that would make it too easy to get back to lane really quickly just by sacrificing yourself (although the phoenix's passive actually had no cooldown, so there was less of a disadvantage to doing that with him; if you try it with Azalin, you lose the opportunity to do it again for 5 mins). I really like how his Q and E work (gapclosing to jungle camps to escape is always fun), but I'm not sure why his W is there. The extra burst is useful, but it's a lot of mobility for someone classified as a tank (sure, it's currently also possible to build him as an assassin, but a tank that can assassinate is often overpowered). It's even MORE mobility when you consider the fact that he gets another leap from hiw E (plus his W). ~~Additionally, you could theoretically spam W while staying inside of E for infinite damage (as long as you have the mana). ~~ Nevermind, didn't see the part that says it can only happen once per W cast But that means that he essentially has 3 dashes for a tank, which could work, but I'm not quite sure why he would. I like his Q, but I'm not sure if his W really fits. His ult is cool, but sorta dry. It IS interesting how the burst scales completely differently from the DoT, but it's still just normal damage (other than the cooldown reductions). Because of the cooldown reductions, however, I see it as more of an execute, but the DoT doesn't really work with it like that... It might also be a good idea to make the cooldown reduction aspect activate if they die while being affected by his ult instead of dying to his ult because it's a bit obnoxious if you're fighting them in the radius of his ult, but he takes the kill in some other way (with his Q, for example), so it doesn't activate the cooldown reduction.

Side note: Approximately how large will his E be? Trundle's Frozen Domain, Maokai's Vengeful Maelstrom, or Malzahar's Null Zone?

TL;DR: Overall pretty great, but you might not want to let him buy items while dead until he confirms that he will be respawning next to shop; W gives him oodles of mobility and may not fit very well with his kit.
